Can someone who owns both of these tell me if the two SSC sculpts (hat and no-hat) that came with the ROTLA are exactly the same visually? The angle on the two pics below is slightly different, so tough to tell from them.

They are clearly the same sculpt, yet the hatless one doesn't seem to look as rounded/slightly chubby as the hatted one. I'm wondering if the molding process that included the addition of the hair elongated the sculpt slightly, making it appear leaner.

I have always been baffled as to why the hatless one looks just a little better than the hatted one. Or is it just an optical illusion the way the HT one seems to look a little better in the no-hat set-up than the hatted one?

Obviously neither are great and feature that SSC paint application that was dated even when the figure came out, but I'm just curious.

Looks the same to me. I think the pic with the hat is at a slightly different angle and closer up pointing up more at the sculpt.

That's interesting,

I just had a quick look at both of mine, and, of the two, my hatless one looks chubbier than the one with the hat.

It's tough for pics to convey it, but that's how they look to me.

It's what I thought - I only have the hatless version and it just doesn't look as chubby as the hatted one, and the molding process is the only explanation. It's just a subtly better HF likeness over the hatted one.

My hatless head is on my German disguise outfit and it just doesn't have the baby-fat issue the hatted one always seems to have in pics I have seen (maybe the camera adds ten pounds?)

Still has those same atrocious paint apps though, so you're still stuck!

I said my hatless one is chubbier, the opposite to what you said. Anyway, before WGP came along I was repainting both of mine anyway.

Once I'm convinced that the WGP Trad is 100% what I want then I'll pay for it.

Oops... sorry, didn't read closely enough! The hatless I have looks slimmer than any of the hatted ones I have seen, but if there can be variations on the HT sculpt (as there appeared to be) I guess the ol' SSC can have that too!

I guess it is a moot point if WGP comes through. I really like their trad, but I am not as sold on it as I am on the smiling one. The smiling one to me is unmistakably HF - sort of uncanny - the trad I think looks better in the 3/4 than head on. It still has more HF than the HT and SSC combined though. I've chosen (and paid for) the smiling for now because so many iconic Indy poster type images have him smiling. I'm going to do the zipped-up look. But if the trad turns out great (I mean painted,) I will grab that too.

That's ok, no biggie,

I do like the smiler, but, from day one I've always wanted to have a trad Raiders Indy and the WGP head gives me just that.

I just purchased a new Indiana Jones DX05 figure and I would like to upgrade the jacket. Who makes the best jacket for this figure? Does anyone possibly have one for sale?
I'm already planning on doing the mfisher accessories when he gets back into production.

It rather depends on what your budget is, Kato and Sovereign Studios both make them, but, they are very pricey.

Other than that, what you've got is probably as good as it gets, just weather the heck out of it!

Next to that sovereign will probably screw you over. Kato is a great guy and very talented. In a few months he'll start on a raiders jacket.

Some updated pix of my Temple of Doom Indy. I just need to get the rest of the MFisher gear and he will be finished. I got some custom Sankara Stones and Shiva drawing from our own clparker04 (Thanks again!), and added the voodoo doll and Nurhachi urn from the Tomy vending toy line. I also got some Fullers Earth and dirtied him up a little more.

Any time mate:hi5:

The photos look great I really like the voodoo doll :yess:

Here's a quick little mod that I did to the boots.

Dipped them in just boiled water for about 20 secs to soften the sole, then flexed the toes to get wrinkles and give them a worn in look.

Helps to ease the 'new boots' look.
