Heck if i know. Have had them for at least 18 years. Never used them up until now. I used sandpaper to scrape of tiny bits. I aplied it using a small brush. When i was happy with it, i added the varnish.

Best,

Robert

What do they look like? Are they the crayon looking ones?

Go to an art supply house... they will have a big selection of pastel chalks.. I scrape mine with an exacto to make a fine dust to apply... pretty much any brand will do fine.. as stated above just dont get oil based chalks

To add to that, normal oily pastels are more um oily. They smear, these are more like chalk used on a school board.

Best,

Robert

Hmm, I really like this idea. I think I'll have to check them out.

No offence...less. Or add a bit of yellow and brown to give him a slight tan. This is too much. Looks like he's blushing and has sunburn.

Best,

Robert

No offense taken. In fact looking at those pics it looks pretty bad. :lol Sometimes you have to walk away from something and come back to it to really see what it looks like.

Should I add a little brown yellow or just take it all off and start anew?

I would start over if I were you.

I just went in the other room to check him out. Yeah, it was terrible. :lol

Keep in mine I'm new to painting. Should I even be using red? I used some watered down red its just I went over it a few times. Any help would be great.

Water the red down, then dry out the brush and dab it on or go over it lightly. Subtlety is key. Just do highlight spots like cheekbones, sides of the nose and forehead. Less is more. Good luck bud.

Yeah that's what I did. Its just I repeated the process way too many times. Thanks.

Here is what I did to the HT version with the pastels. you have to brush almost all of the pastel off onto a paper towel before applying to the figure. You can see hints of red on the cheeks and nose as well as the ears and chin. The stubble was darkened in with a mix of black and brown pastel

I just got mine and might mod him out a bit.

Are there any particular pages worth looking at for tutorials or idea's that anyone can remember ( as opposed to flicking through all 500+ pages :horror)

The pastel idea looks cool too.

Switch the arms on the muscle body to the narrow shoulder true types arms, order a belt, whip, holster set from Mfisher, dye the shirt the proper color (Raiders shirt had a tint of grey to it) repaint or replace the hot toys head. Most are waiting on the WGP Indy head to start shipping.
