It's really strange how deceptive that SSC head can be, from the right angle, on a good day, it looks good. Or is it just the rest of the gear giving the right impression that completes the illusion, is it because we see the rest of it as Indy that our minds fill in the rest!? Go figure!
I don't think there is an illusion. I think it's just that it's actually a really good sculpt. Otherwise, you'd just say "it looks like some other dude dressed as Indy".

Most of the time it does, to me it's a case of just the right angle and just the right lighting. I suppose swapping out the hat makes some difference too.

Yeah, it's been the same with the bootleg one, I wasn't impressed when I first saw it, but, in hand pics gradually swayed me into pre-ordering. Then again, I still see pics that make me think 'What have I done!?'. Hopefully it won't be too long before that final run goes out and I get to find out for sure. After the WGP I became very wary of third party heads. I suppose the bootleg could be called fourth party.

Yeah, it seems like each sculpt that comes along gets a little bit right but misses the mark on other things. Just gotta find that one that comes the closest in your own eyes.

For me, I'm hoping that's the bootleg then I don't have to repaint my old Trev head. I just want Indy done and dusted, I've spent 11 years trying to get him right!

Unfortunately for us, we probably be tweaking our figures for the rest of lives 😆

Who sculpted that? Love the look of it..available??

I believe that is the Sideshow sculpt, but recast with a pigmented resin and painted. At least I think that is what that artist did with the sculpts, maybe it was just paint... I can't remember the artist's name, but they showed some incredible work.

I finally pulled the trigger and commissioned MFisher for a set of his leather whip, Belt and holster and I'm very happy with the results! Really love the whip! Now looking for a quality jacket and my Raiders Indy will be complete!

It depends on your budget, you could look on here and hope that someone has a Yunsil or Kato jacket to sell, or you could look to eBay for the HT one. Go with what you can afford and it doesn't matter if it's not the one everyone else uses. At the end of the day it's your Indy, not theirs.

Well I have the HT figure coming so ill have that jacket. Those two custom ones are like 300 right?

I have a SS TOD fedora and am trying to decide whether to use that when I get the recast head or spring for a DX05 fedora. I know that I would need to dremel the magnet out o the SS TOD Fedora, which may or may not be easy. For those that have both, does the size of the SS TOD fedora look like it will work for the recast head? Would the DX05 fedora look substantially better?

It might be easier to cut away the top of the head to get it to fit.
