With BBTS having a sale, I couldn't pass up on KOTCS Indy. I've wanted it, primarly because of the stellar sculpt. I usually don't mod my medi figures this much but I thought that the overall appearance could be improved without painstaking repaints (like mindbooks crazy good repaint). There's tons of debate over price on this forum, but in taking apart both figures from both respective companies, Medi maintains high quality tailoring with strong stitching, tight paint applications and (in the case if the Indy Rah body) the base body seems to have been made stronger to prevent breakage that they've been criticized for, while retaining stiff joints and massive articulation. Also the colors of the clothes seem to be more accurate or (at least) appealing to my eye. It also doesn't hurt that during BBTS's sale I was able to pick this up for $72 shipped. Great production quality, yes...but I couldn't handle things like the big, clunky zipper on the Medi jacket. After going back and forth between Hot Toys TT and the Medi body, I actually settled on the original Prometheus body that came with the SST Indy (yes...even after my praise of the Rah body). It's a good fit for the overall look. I used an older HT neck plug that's almost half the length of the Prometheus. I would have used Sideshow's pants because I like the bagginess of them...but prefer the color of Medi's. Still needs some tweaks, but I like the overall look and this sculpt deserves it. The result is a very nice, older portrayal of Indiana Jones.

Looks pretty good, McHaley. I would have expected the head to look too small on the body but it doesn't. It's odd, though: the jacket in your pictures look a little big on the figure. And he's on the Pro you say? He also looks a little bloated around the torso. Did you pad him a bit to make him look older?

I did pad him so the stomach area wouldn't look concave. The padding is a bit lose, so yes...it's a little too out there. I just need to tighten it up a bit. I like the way the jacket hangs...pretty much like the kotcs jacket. I think Medi's smaller hands make it look larger on the Pro than the original hands.

I'm far from a customizer but I would love to use the extra non-hatted head from ROTLA Indy and make a Club Obi Wan Indy. Can anyone please point me in the right direction of a good body and suit to use? I'm not looking for 100% screen accuracy. Thanks!

You should see if you can scrounge up one of the Legacy Bonds (Connery or Moore would work) for cheap. That's a great starting point.

I have to say that while I would probably buy the Tux Indy, I would do it more begrudgingly (depending on the accessories) than I did the German Indy which I had no problem with picking up (shortcomings and price notwithstanding). I know the German outfit is relatively easy to kitbash, but personally I find the German disguise more interesting and looks more in line with the rest of the figures. I was ready to kitbash the German Indy before it was announced, but I have no real motivation to kitbash Tux Indy. Just MHO.

Problem is, if you want a German Indy to look they way it really should have, you're still going to end up kitbashing it (I'd start with replacing the head with the hat-less head from Adventure Indy) and that's what disapointed me about that figure.
At least with Tux Indy, you have a new hat-less sculpt that can be used for other customs if you wanted to change the outfit.

club obi wan indy was the one indy (not in adventure gear) that i really wanted so it was my first choice for a kitbash using the spare hatless head. hardest part was finding the tux at a reasonable price tho!

admittedly i have also done a german disguise indy kitbash and im glad i did because i think sideshow dropped the ball on that one. but if anything, the imperfections in this indiana jones line has given me the courage to modify my figures to a degree that i am happy with rather from a straight out of the box, adding a whole new dimension to this hobby. i dont want these figures to stop!

Agreed.

I thought that I should put up a couple of pictures of the 1/6 scale "Well of the Souls" torch that Mike Fisher made for me (because it is awesome!!!).
