Yeah that looks great.

I have a light inside my 1/6 Ark of the Covenant but would really like to have some kind of smoke effect coming out of it as well.

@mbuck45

Big Tam looks awesome there.
Cotton should do the trick pretty well with that.[emoji1783]

That cotton trick would probably work great with a custom Blake from The Fog as well.

Hmm now there's an idea for a new custom.

That's great, Rzeznikk.... I see Vader is sharing the change-over with Terminator. Its a nice blending.
Thanks man [emoji2936][emoji95][emoji2935]

What scale is that?

That's what I'm saying, I'm unsure what it scales to. The Gremlins are pretty close to 1:6. Some items appear to be a little too large. But I'm damn curious.

I'll be picking this Gremlin up to go with my Gremlin display. So I will let you know!

Can anyone point me to reference pics of Indy’s Raiders hat? I’m painting the SS head which includes the sculpted hat. Thanks in advance!

Thanks so much Chuck! :duff

I can’t wait to finish painting the head, I think the SSC Raiders head are quite fantastic considering the age.

Hey Jameson.

I have painted quite a few of those heads now. I am still learning the ropes but I think they have turned out pretty well.

For all of them before I started I took the hat off, with great difficulty I might add, and put the sculpt in the oven on the lowest setting. After about 10-20 minutes I took it out and bent the nose on it. I think this really makes a difference to the sculpt.

Here is two of my recent repaints. One is a standard look and the other is trying for the look he has in TOD just after he gets his gear back in the mines. This is my favourite Indy expression and I am trying to do a custom of it.

indeed!! trevor, who was the sculptor, really nailed it!! the hat is perfect, and the likeness VERY good!! someone should reduce it a little... hmmmmmm.....

@Badges, that looks awesome! I didn?t know you could take off the head and it?s too little too late for me to mod the nose since I?m 70% into the repaint. I?m probably oblivious, but why does the node needed to he bent anyway?

I love Trevor?s sculpts. I?m actually working on repainting 2 other swash buckling icons to display with Indy and both were also sculpted by Grove- the SSC Lara Croft and Nathan Drake.

@Jameson

Harrison Ford has a slightly crooked nose. You can see it if you look at the nostrils. His nose curves slightly to the right.

You should be able to still bend the nose even if you have started painting it. There might be a small crack in the paint but you should be able to go over it with another coat. The sculpt will still look great even if you don't bend the nose so don't worry about it too much. It is just a little thing I tried before and I thought it looked pretty cool.

You can get the hat off him but it is quite tricky as it is seriously glued on. I usually cut some of the top of the head away afterwards so the hat will sit lower on the sculpt as well. The Sideshow Kingdom Crystal hat and also the German disguise cap will both fit on that head. I actually think the Kingdom hat is perfect for a TOD or LC Indy look. That is the hat I used in my previous pictures. For the standard Sideshow Raiders hat I heated that up too for about five minutes and flipped up the back of the right side of the hat a little bit as it seems to hang down on that side a bit more than I would like.

Trevor's sculpt is superb. I also have two of his Jack Burton's, one with lipstick, and I think it is great although I trimmed the teeth on them a bit!

I am astounded no company has done a ROTLA Indy recently.

So if you are not familiar with it.. find the Supermadtoys Facebook page and check out their Bladerunner 2049 figures they did.. Ordered it over a year ago.. finally arrived today... (Harrison Ford's character) It is the ULTIMATE old Indy sculpt... they NAILED Ford's likeness... in hand it is perfect.. the head is gonna be tricky to find a fedora to fit.. but man this is gonna make for a perfect PERFECT KOTCS Indy custom.. I have not been in my workshop for some time to work on personal projects.. but this arrival has me sparked to get to the bench more... on that note.. I did start a batch of 12 Raiders bag straps.. those should be wrapped up this weekend and available for immediate purchase.. Will advise.. After those get knocked out I should be able to do a run of holsters.. then some belts.. promise I will be putting out more gear this year.. but the ball is rolling and I hope to gain some momentum.

Congrats on the pick-up. I think a few of us picked up the figure with a similar thought in mind so hopefully we see some good ideas and tips. And amazing news that you found some inspiration and time to put together some gear, gonna be some even better Indy figures out there because of it. :yess:

I should be starting work on my custom today. Using an Inigo Fedora.

Does anyone have any pics of that sculpt in hand? Thx
