Re: KOTCS Indy.... in hand !!!!!

Just got mine too. Time to cancel! ;)

Interesting it's only a week behind the regular. I would have thought for that little time they would just hold the regulars til after the ex's ship. Isn't one of the perks of getting ex's that you get them first before the regulars?

They did the same thing with Grand Admiral Thrawn. I'm guessing by holding back them back for a week so the Ex can ship first, would create more work for the shipping and processing dept and would also take up space in the warehouse if they waited to ship the ex first.

I have the Reg on order.

That's true.

Seems like they've been doing that for the larger ex's like Thrawn, Toht and now Indy.

Re: KOTCS Indy.... in hand !!!!!

Can't wait to receive my Ex. KOTCS was bad...just bad, but the pure absurdity of this Ex made it worth getting.

I agree with the absurdity of the EX, it was too ridiculous for me NOT to pass on.

I disagree slightly about KOTCS though, while it's nowhere near the masterpiece that ROTLA is, not even close, I still think it's a fun ride, and I was happy to see Ford back in that role again. :whip

Re: KOTCS Indy.... in hand !!!!!

Yeah, but they ended up making a joke of the whole thing. I don't think Spielberg, Lucas, or Ford took this one seriously. It was more a parody, and after nearly twenty years of waiting, they screwed it up.

Agree it's a fun ride. For me, KOTCS was just as fun as LC. In fact, I may even like it a little better. ROTLA is simply in a whole other category of greatness.

Looking forward to the figure.

Not a Parody... a Farce. Skull is an embarrassment. :monkey4

Re: KOTCS Indy.... in hand !!!!!

I canceled my exclusive. Not because I think it looks bad. I just think I'll be able to find it for cheaper once they start arriving.

Re: KOTCS Indy.... in hand !!!!!

Well, I canceled the exclusive fridge and am keeping the regular. Money's tight for me right now and I would keep it if I really felt it was worth it. But ultimately I can't justify paying $85 for the fridge when I could buy a whole other figure for that money. It's a fun and imaginative exclusive, but not worth $85 to me. The figure comes fully loaded anyway, so I'll be more than happy with the regular. Congrats to whomever gets their waitlist converted!

Re: KOTCS Indy.... in hand !!!!!

You end up doing anymore customizing with your figure? Are you the only person in the world who owns one right now? Lucky bast ard.

Re: KOTCS Indy.... in hand !!!!!

If you are referencing me, it would be the first time in my Life I was called lucky.

Anyway, I moved updating to this thread:

https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45311&page=140

I still need to find a bigger body, the head is almost 1/5th and a half scale. When you have it in hand, compare the sizes of the ROTLA heads to this one, you will see what I mean.

The figure is something to look forward to, the Trevor sculpt is awesome!

With only 600 exclusives im keeping my preorder, this will rocket up in price, and as a collector that's what i like!

Highly doubtful. Considering the grail of this license, the Indy Ex PF barely sells for above cost, German Indy, with an ES of only 150 more is still available not only at Sideshow but at most online retailers, and all of the other Indy figures are not only still available on Sideshow's website (even the exclusives), but go for chump change, I seriously doubt there'll be any rocketing of price on any release from this line.

Indy's stock dropped when the fridge got nuked.

I happen to agree but it won't stop me from buying Indy things. Indy is the only thing that I collect nowadays but if they ever make more Universal Monsters, I'm in.
I have plans to get KOTCS Indy on the secondary market. Hopefully for less than Sideshow's price. I don't need the fridge. A joke's a joke but at that price, the joke's on me.

Indy stuff has nothing to do with the KOTCS not being enjoyable for some
The fact is for years you couldn't get anything for him, so unlike Star Wars or Marvel, the franchise hadn't built up a large collecting community.
As soon as the last movie came out, companies put out so much stuff in such a short time it was overkill.

That's an interesting way of looking at the situation. IJ fans aren't really conditioned into the whole diorama building, figure collecting type of thing. I've only recently delved into Indy collecting, but my initial impression is that accuracy and quality are big concerns. Everybody has pretty much made their own collectibles, or commissioned them to their own exacting standards. There's not a lot of room for stuff that's not perfect.

Don't know if anyone noticed in the newsletter that they are fulfilling 15 waitlist reservations for the fridge. Sounds like this will sell out.
