Just got KOTCS Indy today. Impressed with the paint job, the weathering on the clothes looks great and the Pro's joints are all nice and tight but Jesus H. Christ is that noggin a bobblehead! His noggin's so big the hat looks disproportionate, almost like one of those silly kid cowboy hats:
cough...Faramir...cough. You've gotta consider the very real fact that as hardcore as the Star Wars fans are, they aren't nearly as butt-tight as some of the Indy fans. The only issue I had was the body-swap. Other than that, I was fine with Indy.
Whenever they say a line is "on hold" it usually means they're moving on to other genres of collectibles and leaving 1:6 behind. They've done this with all but 3 of their 1:6 lines. Assuming Indy's done, which is highly likely given the availability of the figures, both regular and exclusives still available on their website, Star Wars, G.I. Joe and The Dead (which may already be done) are the only three 12" lines they're producing ATM.
I agree that the head is a bit big , epsecially with the jacket off but I think the pros definatly out weigh the cons on this figure and the head doesn't look that bad.
I'll have mine onTuesday and will pass final judgement then.
Is this the figure unaltered at all, it's one of hte first shots in here.
Looks like it to me. Figure looks pretty damn good IMO for what thats worth.
I'd say "yes", Sean...unfutzed, right out of the box.
And I agree, Josh....he looks great.
I'll see for myself on weds...
I agree with thenammagazine & The Ween, it is not fair to most buyers to give them a "Bobble Head" Indy. I am lucky enough to have resources close at hand here in Hong Kong to achieve an upgrade. I have also had the chance to see the Hot Toys T2 Arnold up close as well as the Brad Pitt Alton Raine, these figures require nothing but a glass case, because they are works of art. Why would Sideshow do this to Indy fans ... we are not cheap people, we would have paid more if that was the issue. I REALLY hope that Hot Toys gets the license for Indy soon (but if they do I will be broke rather quickly).
For anyone who does not agree about the bobble head part, compare: a production still, what I had to do to match that still, and him out of the box:

Your point about the Hot Toys pricing difference is well noted, and I agree with you, especially in these hard times.
I think that it is important to honor Harrison for his work in creating one of the most iconic characters in film history (of course along with Steven Spielberg & George Lucas). Frankly, the KOTCS 1/6th Indy does not. These figure should be among the best figures in the marketplace, I have always said that the Trevor sculpts are amazing, and some of them come with decent stuff, and I have purchased them all (some in multiples). However, I just think that they could have taken the time to fix the scale issue and other quality concerns, like they obviously did for the Mola Ram PF, which is incredible. They are capable of matching production stills (again, like the Mola Ram PF), I just wish that the same attention to detail was taken here ... Do I regret purchasing it, no, it is worth it for the Trevor sculpt alone.
He got a paycheck, I hardly think the action figure needs to stand as an homage to the actor. There is far too much importance put on an action figures looking like the actor that filled in for the character. Harrison Ford did not create Indiana Jones. He just wore the costume and took direction to flesh him out. He did a great job, but he is a long way from being a God for his part in the matter.
The only thing that demanding a likeness be perfect to the actor does is jack up the price of the figure.
I disagree 100%, respectfully, with this statement. He did more than just wear a hat.
