So, with Ben likely shipping before the year is over, anyone got thoughts on hot to plump him up a bit. Base bodies are too muscular and in shape, he needs to be a bit portly.

I usually use tissue paper and tape. Easy to put on and take off.

A couple of cottonballs taped around the midsection should give him a nice paunch.

An old pair of the wife's pantyhose wrapped around the figures mid section works well, this trick works great to build up "muscle" or bulk up a figure in general. I used this trick to add muscle mass to my custom Vader.

Thanks for sharing your ideas guys, it's really the only flaw of the figure to me. Generic bodies work for the most Part, but in this case, it won't quite feel like Obi-Wan without a thicker midsection, but I also want to keep the articulation so I don't want pad him in a manner that inhibits those joints.

I am so excited about Old Ben.....Luke is definitely my favorite character throughout.....beats out Vader/Anakin only slightly but something about Old Ben always had a soft spot in my heart.

Obi-Wan as a whole ranks as my second fave. I love the progression you see in the character from Ep1 all the way through Ep4.

I'm so worried this character is going to come out sloppy.Must keep positive thoughts up!!!

Number #1 SS product I'm looking forward to this year.

Yup, I'll never argue that the PT had it's faults, as did the OT, but one shining point from the PT was McGreggor's performance as Obi-Wan in conjunction with Lucas and his writing staff. They really gave a depth to young Obi-Wan that for me, developed a love for Guiness' Kenobi. Obi-Wan was a nice part of the OT, but when it was only that trilogy, there was something missing with him. Having the PT fill in the gaps really made a for a rounded character with a lot to him, in fact same can be said for Anakin and Vader growing from the PT back story. Obi-Wan is definitely my absolute favorite hero, followed by Luke. There's just something about Obi-Wan being a noble badass that makes him so appealing.

Don't know about the paintjob, but the outfit should turn out the same as the prototype. It's pretty much been done before.

I'm with ya there Sean.

I actually enjoy epIV about 6 times more as a result of the PT.

So anyway, is time for Ben to come home yet? :monkey2

I feel the same way. McGregor's portrayal of Obi-Wan is my favorite performance in the entire saga.

I agree with everything you said except the Lucas and writing staff. I believe that Lucas solely wrote all the PT, which is why some of the dialogue can be cringe worthy. Reason why ESB and RoTJ are my favs, is that Lucas only co-wrote them. Not a good writer IMO, but a FANTASTIC story teller.
