Hi everyone,

I received my Sidious/Palpatine set yesterday. I know everyone already said this, but they look awesome!

I'm posting some very bad-quality pics of my "custom" Ep. VI Palpatine, just to give you an idea of how good does the Sidious figure looks with the robe from the old POTF 12'' Emperor Palpatine figure. :emperor

I hope I'll be posting better quality pics as soon as I get a new camera.

Did you modify the POTF2 hood, it looks so much larger than the hood on my POTF robe.

Yes, actually. I have both versions of the Emperor, the sigle-packed and the electronic one that came with the Royal Guard.

I needed to cut one of the robes to get enough fabric to completely redo the hood. In the pics you can see it's a bit miss-aligned but this is due the fact that I took the measures of ROTS Palpatine's head to make it. Sideshow's head is a bit larger.

I think this miss-alignment problem could be solved with a wire sewed to the edge of the hood. Just like Sideshow does with their figure's costumes.

If I remember correctly (and someone correct if I'm wrong), the original intention was for Palpatine to transition into his decrepid state over the course of the Prequels as his power grew and he came closer to revealing himself to the Jedi as Darth Sidious. But when Episode III rolled around, the cause for the deformity was the Sith lightning, and the original concept was dropped.

Again, I could be wrong.

I think you are right, I believe this was a case of GL going "uh, yeah through the power of myth and all that jazz..." seriously I remember looking at the SW Insider seeing EPII Palpatine on the cover looking much older and Mr.Burnsish than he previously was in Phantom Menace. This is definitely "I don't know I am making this up as I go" from George.

That's the great thing about the 1/6 line-- the ability to completely switch the look of your collection by reworking the poses... Granted I love my PF collection (for detail--sculpt--etc...) but the 1/6 just allows for so much.

You're spot-on in your assessment of the 12" line. Another of the board members referred to them as "Poseable Statues," and that description really fits the bill as well. You just can't beat their versatility, and once they're posed well, they don't resemble action figures at all.

But he'd be pretty cheap...should be anyway...

has anybody switched outfits on these guys yet? red robed sidious like right after he was deformed and a black robed palpatine would kinda be close to what he was supposed to look like in EPI and II.

My apologies for the delay on fulfilling this request. Here's a full pic of Palps with the altered coloration on the robes. I'm about to repaint the Sid head and I just got the parts I need to do some lightening! So excited!!!

Mikey did you make him Episode II Older looking or Episode III rejuvenated? He looks sorta old and age spotty to me. (which I prefer)
