Aha! My next project is going to be a 1/6 scale Terminator Salvation Hydrobot.Anyone who is interested I will be posting a prototype later in the week, and will be able to do about 10 for fellow board members... should be able to do them at about £50 each (or $75 USD).
I was thinking of doing it in a similar way to the Hot Toys Alien tail, or Wolf Predator whip, in other words a rubber casting over a wire so it is flexible, but have a plastic cast top end so the spike and claws are hard and hinge them.
Please post comments, suggestions and interested parties names.

Im down for one, just need to see the prototypes before im a 100%!!! Sent a PM about rubber masks!

Cant wait to see what it looks like, but im trying not to go down the Terminator path due to lack of room.

I will start on the hydrobot Friday and might have something to post by the end of the weekend. Because it is in sections I will be able to sculpt one piece and re-cast three of it, then do the next segment. It seems to have three different sized segments, and a head and tail. I found a website of the company who made the one in the movie showing it's construction, so I should be able to get it movie accurate (ish). Then when the prototype is finished I can re-cast the body in rubber, with a wire inside, and the head and tail in plastic, with hinged jaws.
This is gonna be fun. Might e-mail Hot Toys when it is done and see if they want to give me a job!

Remember folks, I will only be doing a limited run of these... only 10 or so.

Hey. Only second post still...hah, but yeah I'd be pretty keen for one of these too. If, as said, you can pull it off ;) Be a kickass accessory for any/all of the other T:S figures..

Put me down for one! 99% just need time to aquire the funds and see some finished pics!

Yep, that is the site I got the reference pics from.
So far I have sculpted some inner rings for the spine, and started on the outer casings. A lot of fiddly bits, so need to work out the best way to do this. I was thinking of the cetral core as a flexible rubber spine, with a wire inside so it holds a pose, then the outer casings cast in plastic individually so they move.

Will do some more after the weekend.

Just waiting for some styrene sheets to do the fins properly... each piece will have the fins cut from this to ensure that "razor blade" look to the beastie. Also I have figured out how to have the front jaws open and close, and will do a couple of bots with LED lights.
Remember, I will only be doing 10 of these... each one will take a few days of cutting and assembling. Plus all the individual pieces to cast and trim, and a central flexible core.
Hopefully I will have a prototype assembeld in the next couple of weeks.
