Any UK Freaks know how much Sideshow are charging for shipping to the UK?

I've got that squad building feeling and fancy ordering an exclusive version direct.

Just worried about ridiculous shipping, customs and handling fees.....

Probably pick up another two regulars off eBay for about the same price!

I've been pondering about this myself, and have worked out the shipping is $25 to the UK, and the VAT will be 20% of the price before shipping.

I have never ordered from sideshow directly and never will as i buy all my ht's and SS figs from uk sellers.

I gave up buying direct from Sideshow years ago, (I think Vader was my last direct purchase). If I remember right the way they fill the customs form out you get charged the 20% VAT on the TOTAL amount, cost + shipping!

Means for this figure were looking at $150 + $25 = $175 = £115 + 20% (£23)

So that's £138, before FedEX chuck a handling fee ontop (about what, £15?)

So about £153 door to door ($231.50)

Hmmm a lot extra for the exclusive gun. Seeing as I just bought two regulars for £120 each delivered!

He had two listed for £127.99 + £19.99 shipping

I offered him £230 for the pair (he'll combine shipping once inhand and send together)

Excellent communication, really nice guy, I'll hold off recommending him until these two arrive, but he seems straight up!

You have to get the seller to declare a low value on the customs form. Has to be below £12

That falls below UK customs charging and your package gets delivered with zero extra charges

It is illegal.

You're not covered by insurance.

Sideshow refuse to do it.


On the other hand, I saved around £1200 last year alone in customs and handling fees!

I take the view that if occasionally an item goes missing or is damaged I've made enough savings to right it off. Depends how much you spend on toys I guess.

I prefer to wait a bit longer and even pay a bit more so i dont have to worry about customs or things getting lost.

Feeling that fear too. Fpi still haven't got him. They haven't let me down yet.........

Tbh I might swallow the extra cost to get these OT people. Thing is I actively don't want the exclusives, they'd just sit in a drawer with all the other bits and bobs Might be able to offload them to offset the cost

I only buy from Ssc if I actually want the exclusive because if he cost now. But if fpi so let me know I may have to look at other options. Grrr

Just used valentine card and points to get both bossk and snowie from SSC, might flog or trade the exclusives, all in all works out just marginally more expensive than from local (including shipping + vat etc) only it means I actually am getting a Bossk who I can't find here, and the snowtrooper arrives quickly from the USA.

I'm sat here hovering over Sideshows site a Gnats **** away from ordering Bossk & another Snowtrooper and just saying to hell with the cost!

Just want the damn figures. Why does real life have to keep butting in and spoiling my fun?
