Looks great TK, wonderful posing.

Replacing the masks makes a big difference.

I'm also in the process of reworking my Snowtrooper helmets. I reworked the eyes and am planning to also replace the hands.

The trooper pictured on the left has had the eyes, mask redone. The one on the right has just had the mask replaced.



I really think with these mods that these two will be able to stand next to the new Hot Toys release.

Replaced the rubber face mask/cover from the helmet. Might replace the gloves and boots When Hot Toys releases their version of the Snowtrooper. Looking forward to adding to the ranks. Might even make a gun crew for the good 'ol E-WEB cannon!

What did you use for the masks? Looks excellent.

I just used a plastic mailer bag I got from a UPS shipment. The outer portion is white while the inside is gray. I used the original rubber mask as a template and cut the plastic bag to shape; front and back. I then glued them to the front and back of the helmet.

It's a cheap alternative, but I think the results are pretty similar to what was in the movie. I also avoid having troopers with masks that have wrinkles in the same exact places

Just kidding, fantastic work and some great poses. Really brings them to life.

It does look great. Sideshow should take note of the idea and use it on a re - issue of the figure. I still really like the SSC version but always wished the mask wasn't forever frozen in that one look. Great job!

They're not going to re-issue it when there's an imminent Hot Toys figure. Wouldn't make much sense. Obviously they did it with Vader and Boba but those were at least different versions. Still one of Sideshow's best though, one of the figures that got me into this scale.

I will either sell my Sideshow Snowtrooper and put the money towards the Hot Toys 2 pack or just buy a Hot Toys Snowtrooper helmet and maybe some hands.

I really hate the Sideshow helmet now after looking at the Hot Toys version.

The eyes are too small and the mask cloth is all made of rubbery plastic which looks un-natural.

Finally sold mine. Upon further inspection of this figure I realized the poor quality. The body was too loose along with the bad clothing. It's only from a distance does it look decent

But when HT announced theirs already I could tell that the SS became subpar. At one point most of my collection was SS Star Wars, when HT Toys got the license it was a game changer and I've never looked back

I'll be casting the helmet/eyes area of the HT when it arrives to seal the two-for-one HT Snowie deal.

Other than the over mitt hands (which I already swapped out) the helmet is the only issue with the SSC - after taking a close look, the rest of the SSC fig is pretty much on-par with the HT.
