I've made three. Two female warriors, and a Cobra officer. The officer was mainly Sideshow parts so it didn't bother me (and I prefer the Hasbro colors to the Marvel ones). The girls were original characters so there was no other way.

I love doing it, but not with an official line like this unless it only requires a minor detour from what the company offers.

I just don't like customs, in general. I will always choose to get a licensed figure over even the best kitbash. I don't know why exactly. Maybe I'll figure it out one day.

I feel like my collection has a greater connection to the source when its licensed. Even if its, like you said, the most perfect custom imaginable I still like the idea that my collectibles are endorsed by the same powers that be that conceived and created the characters and storylines that I fell in love with in the first place. That's my take on it anyway.

i want about 5 of this version. i am really digging the color. plus i watched revenge of the ninja last night and i need moar ninjas.

nice doc btw, nam!

I agree as well. Though it is nice to have customs that fill in the spots of characters that won't be seen like Croc Master and Steel Brigade ect. :)

Yeah. And my love for all things licensed didn't stop me from adding a backpack to SE and switching out the hands on him and Duke.

customs are characters that we want and desire for that we know we wont get these characters or are afraid we wont. croc master has always been a fav in my corner. sure i would love sideshow to make him but if they dont i will still wont have a blank spot of him

I like both licensed and customs. I am amazed at the talent that some of the guys show at doing their own figures. For them to be able to simply whip up (I know there is more to it than that) any of the characters that they want to see displayed...and have them look as good as some of these guys' work does...if I were a jealous-type person...I would be hating on some of these guys. But instead, I take inspiration from the efforts to eventually work on doing it myself.

I think customs can fit in perfectly fine with licensed stuff.

Love the Sgt Slaughter fig.....ski did some awesome work....I must have missed out on the steel brigade because it has never rung a bell for me....

Well, your take sucks. Might as well be a MIBber. :pfft:
I used to unscrew the backs and make custom 3 3/4" Joes when I was a kid anyway. :dunno

One of my top 5 figures! :lecture:lecture:lecture :exactly:

The Nick Fury and Madame Hydra full reveals have been up for about an hour now, Sideshow. Where's the Cobra Ninja Viper? :impatient:

Hm, looks like he wearing MC Hammer pants. >_<

The shirt seems a bit oversized as well.

Also looks like the usual no ankle articulation stuff that makes me swap out the Pro for HT TT every time. :p

I'll try picking this up, but maybe I won't be sad if I don't get it...
