still not sold out....embarrassing.....:slap:slap:slap

I'm interested to hear what you mean? I think you're just being dramatic, but I'm open to hear why it matters?

IMO the Cantina Band member is "embarrassing" because its obviously a good (though very sparse and simple) product that SSC grossly over estimated what collectors would pay.

The ninja seems like a good product and the price seems fair compared to the Red Ninja. So I'm not sure what exactly you think is "embarrassing".

Product quality?
Product design?
Fan response?
SSC marketing?
Pricing?

I think he's implying that since it hasn't sold out as a "limited edition" item prior to the show, it's not a successful product.

I think he's saying that the figure should be sold out since it's an SDCC Exclusive, but it isn't. :p

Since we don't know the production numbers I have a hard time measuring "success".

Yeah, SSC could make 50 of these and "sell out" in 5 minutes, but all that says is you sold 50 of them. Big deal, you make $6,000. If they make 1000 of them and sell out over 3 weeks they make $120,000.

Measuring success by minutes or days of a product's sell out is pretty silly, IMO. Especially for this company which has had "sold out" product reappear on their site for sale all the time.

i don't care how many they sell or how long it takes. just as long as i get mine.

:horror You mean you aren't "embarrassed" to own an item that hasn't sold out within 5 days? I totally thought this hobby was about owning stuff that was virtually impossible to get.

Yeah, you can't necessarily judge on the "sold out" factor since x number of orders always get cancelled or denied for whatever reason.

No but it is an indicator of many things, in this case maybe its price, maybe its choice offering, but we all know the ES for this cant be that large, so we are sales lagging??

I'm not convinced its lagging any more than any other 12" figure these days, but supposing it is, I don't think price necessarily has an impact because its priced the same as the red ninja plus the customary $5 surcharge for SDCC items.

Maybe people are tired of ninjas? I don't think the green vs teal thing is that big of a deal as I bet some people would actually prefer the green to the teal.

It can't possibly be the quality because it looks as good or better than the red ninja (regarding sculpt, weapons, paint, etc). And we know the pants are fixed...

So if I can't explain why it would be not selling then I can't label it as embarrassing. So I hope EXOTICLEX can explain why he thinks its embarrassing.

Do we even know it's lagging? Maybe Sideshow's left the Preorder window open to be cut off at a specified date and then ordering that many from China? :huh

Thats half my point. The quanitity is TBD. Unless an item has an edition size announced, they can treat it like inclusive editions like you guys said a few days ago.

I doubt its an inclusive because I would almost guarantee that they're in the warehouse or on the way. Comic-Con isn't that far off.

thats true. could be that they took a high estimate for what they'd sell, but thats not to say that not reaching an estimate in 5 days is "embarrassing". Still, if the item was that far along in production to the point its almost on its way from China, why would they not know or post the edition size?
