Check the snake head and the tail. Also misprint. So while it is factory made, IF the quality control is good, it could be a reject.
Or they just don't care

It being a smuggled-out reject is not beyond the bounds of possibility.

At least let's hope so for everyone who's still planning to pick this up...

Those are probably the least flattering photos you could take of the figure... not saying he's HT quality, but I think the video reviews are more indicative of what we'll get in-hand. Not something as washed-out looking as this picture.

Some positives is the eye plate is at least sitting flush and I'm not seeing any distortion to the shape of the face. I don't care for the eye decal they are using; it's pretty cheesey looking upon super-zoom; but likely in hand it will look better.

A real high quality paint job could really do wonders here. I'm glad his proportions or eye isn't wacky either, like Drake.

I was saying what do you expect for $160 but in all fairness its much worse then that. I know we've been spoiled with hot toys but in all seriousness sideshow is a partner with hot toys and shouldn't be releasing junk like this. I've seen better paintjobs on $15 dollar figures.

Stumbled on it while browsing eBay. Still have it on preorder, but... I dunno. Quality really seems to be low-end.
This is the link to all the parts, good quality pictures there... But I warn you... It's bad.
Funny thing, jacket seems to be the least problematic, imho anyways

That is awful. No $150 + 1/6 scale figure in 2015, should look that crappy. And this is the same company making Indiana Jones and Beetlejuice next, OMG!!

did Sideshow last produce a human head sculpt that looked like a quality product out of the box?

The only one I can think of is the DX Vader Anakin sculpt. It ain't HT was it was very good. I remember thinking SSC turned it around with their sculpts and were looking forward to Luke and Han. Then Drake happened, and this stupid ****ing separate eye ka-ka.

They did fine with Vader. Just, ya know, do that again.

Sideshow needs to send me these dolls, not to toot my own horn, but goddamn I could take pictures 1 billion times better than everyone who has gotten this figure in. At least if I took pictures everyone would know what they are getting in hand.

It's okay. Don't panic. It turns out that all the pics we have seen so far are just factory rejects that were stolen and sold on to people.

Sideshow stole the whole lot from Hasbro's factory.

Actually, i heard that Sideshow stole the entire run of figures from a factory that was making Sideshow bootlegs of Snake. Sideshow only made one proto, posted pics, and waited for the bootleg factory to get up and running before hijacking the entire shipment.

When you look at an old figure from HT from back when they were in this price range you can still see a 20x better result.
