If they're really soft, then every pair is gonna be a little different depending how quickly they were pulled/peeled out of the mold.

Is the paint okay on the silencer and scopes and stuff or is it all orange peeley like it looked in some of the review photos?

The paint on my silencer is poor. It has runs. The paint on the pistol is much better. Oh yeah, careful with the bullets. My carpet just ate one.

Yea, I still have a bunch of old boots from DML's 101st airborne Soldat like 10 years ago that are all really soft and they're all way different even though they're all from the same mold. If they are still hot when they put it on, it can get bent/twisted or malformed especially if the foot is sitting in there at a weird angle when it cools.

Well, I've been quietly biding my time in this thread but I just opened up my Snake.

Ahhhh, geez.

It's not good fellas. Basically, the face paint is bad (Drake-esque eye), and the paint on some of the accessories is crappy as well. My biggest issue at first impression is the incredible cheapness of the clothing. I get that it was not an expensive figure, but believe me, it shows. The jacket, the pants, the belt........it's cheap. No way around it. Thin material, too shiny belt, etc. The box is also pretty awful with some bad artwork of Plissken lounging around, I guess trying to look tough. They did some sort of intentional distressing of the box as well, but instead of looking cool, it just looks like someone kicked the box down the stairs before packaging it up.

Pretty much a big let-down for me because to fix this I feel like you'd need to repaint the head, fix/weather/or replace the jacket altogether, the black shirt seems to be made of the same figure-staining stretchy material that Hot Toys Hulk's underwear was made of so probably best to get that away from the figure's skin before something happens, the pants seem off, the belt is too shiny........I guess if you were to swap out the entire figure you'd have a nice example???

Can yours stand up well on his own?? Is your right boot like mine?

I detest stands in my pics, but seriously, he can't stand in a natural pose without it. If you look at the right boot, the heel isn't even touching the base. Sigh. My boots must be defective. Gotta contact Sideshow.

That said, overall, I really do like the figure.

Looks pretty good there, as long as you disregard the wonky boot :lol

Gotta say, that stand is about the most boring thing I've seen on a 1/6 figure.

It looks like a guy playing snake plissken in a play or something. Not Russell, but someone PLAYING Kirk Russell on stage. Reminds of the old HT hamburger face terminator.

Well, it DOES say 'Escape from New York' lol. No, I agree. Dammit. I had really high hopes for this one. It immediately makes me fearful for some of my other pre-orders. Dolls ain't cheap.

Kurt.

But again, yeah, it's more of a cartoonish version of Snake, rather than a serious attempt at making a true-to-life figure of him. That sucks for me, because I don't want a cartoonish interpretation. I want KURT.

C'mon now... it's far from perfect, but he's not Hamburger face :lol Although in all honestly I never felt the likeness was that strong, but it's still very recognizable as Snake.

Right... just something. Not to mention I really don't care for a taller design? What's wrong with the round one's they've been using for a decade?

I'm with you there.

It appears to be the same size and shape as the stand that came with the DX T-800. I didn't care for that one either. Very uninspired. And even though I'm not a stickler when it comes to size, I don't like that it throws things off. Especially within the same company.

Thanks for the pix, rubio. Not a total disaster, but definitely not worth the asking price, IMO. This looks like it should be a $100 Art Figures release called "New York Serpent" or something...
