I honestly thought I was the only one that did that. :lol
Ive never understood how so many people say they "loose interest" in a figure. If you love the character enough to at some point want to pay $____, why would your feelings change while waiting?

That's consumer behavior for ya. Many, if not most, people are driven by the latest fad, and once the fad is over they move on to the next big thing.

That's why I've always thought it was risky for HT et al to get their product to market months (or even years) after a movie has screened.

Exactly. See, on the other side are customs people like me that have tremendous patience and can spend years working on a figure till its perfect to them. So waiting for the right company to finally put out somethong you've wanted for a long time isnt a problem to us.

I'm happy that I've paid long ago too. The money was spent and forgotten and now one of these days there will be a pleasant surprise waiting at my door.

A little while ago I was asking about Breaking Bad Blu Ray censorship, as I ended up getting a censored version of season 2. After a few more purchases and returns, I finally gave up and just bought the boxset new at Best Buy. I just finished rewatching the whole series for the third time, this time in glorious HD and with a bunch of special features to enjoy. Watching them wrap up the final season and say their goodbyes as each actor finishes their last scene was emotional. I think I love this show even more than I did before.

The only time I lose "interest" in a figure is when its one of those fringe characters that I like and would like to add to my collection, but wouldn't care if I didn't get it. TWD line by threezero fall into this character. Had they handled that line right, I probably would have bought them all up, but I've lost interest because of the delay and have decided to put my money into other lines.

But figures that are must haves will be added to my collection regardless of the release date.

Even if this hobby demands patience, I think it's normal for the excitement to wear off when it takes forever to produce a figure in this age of instant gratification. Losing interest (in the sense of not having the figure in-hand and not of losing interest in the character itself) happens to me, but the excitement always returns when I see release photos from other collectors and anticipate the arrival of my own figure. I've never reached the point of canceling a pre-order based on loss of interest; I know the figure is coming eventually. These days there's always something new to anticipate (and pre-order) while you wait for the stuff you've already pre-ordered.

In fact, I've only ever cancelled one pre-order and that wasn't because I lost interest over time, but because a newer figure took precedence and I needed to play financial triage and pick one figure to cancel in favor of a character I liked more. Sorry, Sideshow, but Hot Toys' original trilogy Star Wars figures take precedence over prequel trilogy Jango Fett. I'd still like to have Jango, but I need C-3PO.

I don't think it has anything to to with the age, subject matter nor time to release, it's all to do with the individual. If I'm into something, then I'm into it. I don't care if a collectible is out the same year or 10 years later.

I want Twin Peaks 1/6 figures - that show hasn't been on the air since 1991. I want Mad Men 1/6 figures now as much as I did before the series was over. Same for TWD - don't care if they come out this year, next year of the year after that.

I still plan to pick up most of the TWD figures, no matter when they're released, but a Rick PO this summer would've been nice all the same. Maybe we get it when the new season begins?

Amen! 50+ years later, I'd still love a Rod Serling figure! Or Dirty Harry, or Norman Bates...

More TV: a really good Kirk and Spock would sell quite nicely, as would a Mulder and Scully.

I want this soooo bad (no pun intended). This and the Jessie figure make it so hard to maintain my collecting focus.

Adding my two cents in to say how I I'm very excited for this guy to ship!

How is the articulation? Full movement every where or just arms?

Man, Im chompin at the bit for this to release. I havent been this excited for a mass produced figure in a long time.
