Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs -Goldberg/new Bret

Those are some great customs.

Thanks brother! Did you grab your name from Raven's evenflow DDT. I'm trying to decide who my next wrasslin project will be. Raven is one of the guys I'm considering.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs -Goldberg/new Bret

Glad that AJ Styles is getting over with the fans over there. He's one of the semi-new school guys that I really enjoy watching. I can't believe WWE never picked up the guys at TNA, in my opinion the top guys in TNA are much more talented than a lot of the young top guys in WWE. AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, and Bobby Roode should be top guys in the WWE. Not sure why they never got picked up. It's a complete shame.
Yeah those guys would be great there. Have you watched WWE NXT? Great show. There's some great wrestlers there like Kenta, Prince Devitt, Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville. These guys have been wrestling for many years worldwide and are definitely better, than most of the WWE main roster.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs -Goldberg/new Bret

There was a period when I kept hoping that Samoa Joe would find his way to the WWE, but he seems to content to stay in TNA as long as possible for some reason. They have given him plenty of opportunities to shine there over the last decade or so, so maybe he feels an obligation to them. Same with AJ. But maybe WWE just doesn't want anyone who they can't claim they are solely responsible for "making" on the national stage. Otherwise, I'm not sure why they would go with guys like Bryan, Seth Rollins, and Punk (who never did much if anything there), but didn't go after AJ, Joe, or the Motor City Machine Guns, and don't do anything with a great talent like Low Ki/Senshi.

I haven't watched a complete episode of NXT, but I watched a Kenta match (I think they call him Hideo or something) and he's quite good. Not sure why that guy isn't on the main roster, I'd actually check him out. I've heard great things about Devitt so I need to check out his matches (I believe they changed his name too?)

I've heard Vince has a thing about not wanting to push guys he didn't "create" so I can see this being a part of why AJ and Joe never made it to New York. Vince's ego really gets in the way of him making good decisions for the product. When you think about all the WCW guys that got buried in the the WWF over the years it's just mindboggling. Sting not getting a match with Undertaker at mania this year is in line with their history.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs -Goldberg/new Bret

Yeah, KENTA is Hideo Itami, and Devitt is now Finn Balor. They were tagging with each other recently in NXT. WWE didn't send Rollins or Ambrose over before requiring them to go through NXT, either. Obviously those guys are extremely seasoned professional wrestlers, with both making huge names for themselves in Japan (Zayn and Owens also already made huge names for themselves in the indies), but my guess is that they are expected to work on their presentation, mic work, and structuring the matches in a way that will better appeal to a larger audience. Bryan succeeded in a big way obviously, but he had to largely put his past behind him, and rethink the way he puts on matches to appeal to the "WWE Universe." You don't see him having hour-long technical classics like he had in ROH back in the day. It's kind of funny that WWE headhunts these guys who made their names being distinctive, and actually knowing how to tell a great story in the ring, and then forces them to change what they do to fit what McMahon et al. thinks is the best way to present yourself to the masses. Instead of having trust that the audience may get behind something less mainstream, that has proven itself elsewhere.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs -Goldberg/new Bret

The thing that also bothers me about Vince, is how he hates calling his product pro wrestling. To him it's just sports entertainment. I liked when Austin on his podcast told him it's still pro wrestling.:lol Vince is out of touch and does need to step aside, but you know him. I know Triple H can be a dbag sometimes, but he is behind NXT. So hopefully that will lead to more wrestling in the WWE. We'll see.

I thought it was a trademarking deal, but it seems like it primarily driven by McMahon. Not sure why he had to change Kenta's name. He had a built in audience from Japan (as well as Japanese wrestling fans internationally), why would you alienate that audience. I read Jericho's book and he had a story about how X-Pac was assigned to him to teach him the WWE style.

Vince has a weird self hate for pro wrestling. The "sports entertainment" term is such a joke. Wrestlers sound so unnatural when they're constantly pushing the WWE terminology that absolutely no fans pick up on. Who the hell calls wrestling "sports entertainment" or the calls themselves part of the "wwe universe"?

:exactly: That WWE universe thing is annoying too.:slap
I think it's great what Cornette says in this video.:lol

Gotta love Jim Cornette, his shoot interviews are fantastic.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs -Goldberg/new Bret

Obviously, I revisit this thread again and again because of all the awesome. But, if you figure out a formula for making a Mick Foley, Bray Wyatt or Jake Roberts please share. The weirdos of wrestling have always been the ones I've wanted in 1/6th scale.

I think we'd have to do a commission to get any of these guys in 1/6 (I'm a fan of these weirdos too, haha), when Caine gets back to sculpting I wouldn't mind splitting a Mick Foley commission. It would be worth it because you could get 3 figures out of one sculpt: Dude Love, Cactus Jack and Mankind.

I think you are the only one made this so far......I am into WWF because of Bret, when Montreal accident happened, I quit watching WWF and now I feel WWE is not fun anymore. Great job!!!!

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs -Randy Savage NWO pg. 24

I'd love to see a Jake Roberts in 1/6. Nobody understood the psychology of wrestling like Jake.

I know I'm late to chime in but...

Vince is a circus promoter... always has been, always will be. He always added height and weight to his performers in their stats. Remember the interview he did with Andre the Giant where he made Andre stand on a wooden platform to look even taller than him?

NXT is the best wrestling out there right now. Adrian Neville is like the real life version of Disney's Tarzan.

Seriously, all wrestling fans should watch NXT. It captures the feel of vintage ECW.

Raw sucks

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs -Randy Savage NWO pg. 24

Here's the mega powers, JOhnny did an awesome paintup on Randy (the Hulk was done by silentsurfer), I kinda ruined it by adding the purple highlights to the bandana. Not sure if I'm going to display both Savages together (I have an NWO one as well), I'll probably rotate them.

Piper is next, Surfer Sting and one more Bret. I'm redoing Ric Flair as well. I'm going for his 80's suit look complete with his Ray-bans, gold chains, rolex, rings and alligator shoes, though he does have a hard time holding those down :rotfl I think that's all the wrasslin customs I'm doing for the rest of the year. I'm going to focus on comedy film and sitcom customs after I wrap these guys up.

Looking good brother! Where's the vader time singlet from?

Agreed about the WWE not being fun anymore, the Montreal screwjob really left a bad taste in my mouth too. More Bret's are in the works brotherrrr

I hear NXT is quite good, I think I'll start checking it out if Samoa Joe is signed.

I believe Andre is only 7 feet or maybe 6'11", a part of my childhood died when I found that out.

Vince really took wrestling to the next level, but he klled a lot of the magic of it with his greed.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs -The Mega Powers Reunite

The Vader singlet was a cheapy from ebay. Follow swimming accessories link in my post.
