Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs -The Mega Powers Reunite

That Hogan looks insane! I love revisiting this thread. Definitely need more 1/6 wrestling figures.

Macho turned out really well. Congrats!

Thanks Sam, pm coming your way!

Silentsurfer gets all the credit for that one! He nailed it. I'll keep that Hulkster even with the Storm Toys version coming out as the paintjob is phenomenal.

:exactly: I could not agree more!

Thanks Joel!

In honor of Sting waiting 14 years to join the WWE only to lose to Triple H :slap

Would have been awesome if Goldberg came out to save the day.

Still love the Sting figure, despite one complete dbag sending me a pm saying it was a crappy kitbash (he used language that wasn't as nice). This after he asked to buy him :slap Classy.

Great Scott! Looks perfect Ted, gotta be one of your best. What a sore loser in my textbook, he actually made an effort to PM just you to say it sucks ? :lol

Thanks Mago. Yeah, the figure was never for sale. Against my good judgement I accepted the guy's unsolicited offer. He asked if the head was from the TNA figure, which I never hid at any point (why would I, I'm not trying to sell these figures, I'm doing this for fun) and then got all abusive when he found out it was.

Saw this on facebook and shouted out 'Ted' before my mind could say Hulk Hogan. The things this hobby does to you... :lol

Sting looks really cool there. I also don't think Sting's loss made a lot of sense from a storytelling POV, but. . .many things don't in the WWE! As for someone running down your custom, that's lame and low. But we have some thoughtless jerks lurking around in the peanut gallery.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs -The Mega Powers Reunite

did anyone see the hulk Hogan from Storm collectibles??!?!...OMG....I cannot wait to own that one!!!!

:rotfl Thanks for posting this Mago! This is the first time I've seen this sculpt, I'm definitely buying him, but I guess you figured that out by now :lol

I actually was following the Sting/Triple H storyline on youtube and it was such a mess from the beginning. At first it seemed like the story was Sting was there to avenge WCW. Then the week before the match they made Sting say avenging WCW would be "ridiculous" :dunno

The announcers just buried him during the match as well, usually the babyface announcer defends the face, but not this time. Then the NWO and DX come out to make it a Monday Night Wars match a week after they buried the notion that this match had anything to do with that history.

I really felt bad for Sting, he was worried about how he would be used in WWE and he was right about that. Now I'm glad he didn't come over in the 90's, Vince would have misused him.

What you gonna do brother, when Hulk Hogan and the Silverdome run wild on you?!?!?

I think tbay's custom sculpt has a better likeness from what we've seen thus far.

I think the skull might be throwing it off. If you cover the top of the head it actually isnt too bad, but I agree that the likeness isn't great. I hope they offer 2 sculpts for him.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs -The Mega Powers Reunite

I tuned out the WCW in the very end, so I might be missing something, but it seemed strange to me to see the classic NWO guys coming in to "save" Sting, since he was their nemesis for the longest time. I know Sting eventually went to the "Wolfpac" NWO, but not the Hogan/Nash/Hall variation. Anyway yeah, just a pretty lame situation overall, underscored by the Terminator movie marketing during HHH's entrance. I wasn't expecting much from that match to begin with, so at least I wasn't disappointed. But, on the flip side, I thought Sting came off very good in the ring for a guy his age.

Here's another version of Bill, k.jun did a fantastic mod of the body - he added the trap muscles (looks really fantastic in person, complete with veins!) and repainted the head to match. Pretty happy with the MAN (wow, Bobby Heenan really put this guy over):

I didn't understand why they didn't use Ric Flair if they were going this direction, there definitely is a stronger connection with those two.

Oh that terminator entrance... People like to make fun of Sting and Robocop but HHH's silly costume takes the cake. Now that I think of it I should put Robocop and the Stinger side by side on the shelf!

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs -The Mega Powers Reunite

These customs are amazing.

Re: 1/6 Wrasslin' customs - the Stinger

Just when I thought I was done, they pull me back in :lol

Here's a trio of Stingers painted up by the Bret Hart of the customs world, Cheungkinman. Still need a new stand for the neon green Sting, so I'll be contacting EVILFACE soon who did the the other awesome stand decals. The sculpt is by the incredible Joy and Tom Studios. I didn't realize Tom was a Wrasslin fan! Joy really nailed the Stinger's likeness. The incomparable Corrose did the decals. Ralphs did a great job on the tights.

Sting was such an awesome performer, too bad he didn't go to the WWF right after WCW was sold. We missed out on a lot of dream matches. I would have loved to have seen Sting put HBK in the Scorpion Deathlock (sorry Bret, Sting did the move first - in the US anyway).

I only planned on doing these three figures, but I loved how it turned out so much that I want to put together an orange and blue sting and a 1997 Stinger. When they're completed I'll then I'll move the Capital Combat Sting to a shelf next to his best buddy... Robocop (were you thinking Lex Luger?).

Great trio, man! Loved them!
So, you're not planning for a WWE version? I know his run with WWE sucked big time! But at least I'll never forget the hype!
