Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - Rey Mysterio

Height doesn't look too bad. I'm also a Ray fan, but from his WCW days mainly. I still remember how blown away I was the first time I saw him and Psychosis go at it in ECW. I used to watch Nitro for the cruiserweights exclusively, and am thankful that because of them, we got to see him against Guerrero, Jushin Liger, Ultimo Dragon, Jericho, Malenko, and others during the prime of most of their careers.

And the Royal Rumble thing was sad, but totally not surprising. I agree with you guys on that issue, and reckon the powers that be knew what was going to happen. And in fact, the decision may have been very deliberate just to build up more "small guy against the system" drama.

Wish I could have made him shorter, but that was the shortest I could get him. Didn't get to watch any ECW during their big run (just the ppv's) but got to see some of his ECW work after the fact, great stuff.

Loved those cruiserweight wcw matches, Jericho/Malenko was my favorite fued from that group. Fave moment was Malenko dressed up as Cicolpe (sp). Feel like WCW just completely dropped the ball with those guys, Jericho and Rey were clearly stars and never got pushed to the top. Honestly haven't followed Rey much in the WWE, though I have watched a few of his really good matches on youtube. He had a pretty good one with HBK, too bad they never got a longer program together or a match on a bigger stage than raw at least.

That would be worse to know that they were just using Rey as fodder, the guy deserves more than that.

Loved workin' on the tats for him pal! Always nice to see my work on kick *** pieces! :rock

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - Rey Mysterio

I do remember the Cyclope angle, because my buddy and I thought Cyclope was hilarious before then. He always seemed to screw up spots, and of course, looked ridiculous as a Halloween character gone wrong. But it was that battle royal, and it came down to him and one other guy, and we were both going nuts, cheering for Cyclope to win, and for a few moments after he did I loved WCW more than I ever had in the past, thinking they had gone off the deep end in the best possible way. The Malenko reveal was good, though.

Though those guys didn't always get pushed too too hard, they were given time on major PPVs and Nitro (and Saturday Night), and Guerrero, Benoit, and Malenko were all given the U.S. title at some point I believe, which was pretty impressive. Guerrero even had PPV matches with Flair before he turned heel. And guys like Jericho and Guerrero were allowed to develop characters in ways that made sense, which WWE doesn't always allow. So all in all, I'm glad with what we got, though I'll never forgive the powers that be for interrupting the first ever WCW match between Malenko and Guerrero to show a stupid Hogan backstage scene with Jimmy Hart, talking about the Giant.

Rey and Hulk Hogan :drool WOW!

Thanks brotherrrr, keep saying your prayers and eating your 1/6 vitamins!

Thanks for your work on the tats, so happy with them. I'd highly recommend you to anyone on this board, you do great work!

You're right, they did get a great opportunity to develop their characters when I think about it (Jericho and Eddie got a lot of mic time) but I think towards the end Jericho was ready to mix it up with the guys at the top of the card.

Lots of lowlights in the Hogan/Dungeon of Doom feud:lol

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - Rey Mysterio

Oh lord. How could anyone forget the Yet-Tay!!! :D

Yeah, Jericho refused to be just another jobber that Goldberg could destroy. Same went with Regal, who let Goldberg beat him, but he didn't make it easy.

:lol I think that moment, the Evad Sullivan storyline and the Davey Boy/Sting beach promo (the one where Vader put a bomb on Sting and Davey's boat:slap) made me ashamed to be a wrasslin fan. WCW was just loaded with cringeworthy moments.

I just watched that Regal match the other day, wow that was brutal. I couldn't really tell that Regal was shooting on him but it was clearly an awkward match. Jericho's retelling of his fight with Goldberg in WWE is hilarious. I liked Goldberg's on air character, but he seemed to be such a pain backstage. He didn't want to work with Jericho, but he didn't put his foot down for jobbing to Nash :slap

Rey looks great!!

Thanks EF, the decals you did for him are some of your best work yet. They stuck perfectly to his pants, couldn't be happier with it.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - Rey Mysterio

Just an easy Rock bash. Not sure if I'm going to keep him in wrestling gear or street clothes as the body's a bit skinny. Would prefer at attitude era Rock but this will have to do.

Jeff Hardy's next, then the Nature Boy, WOOOOOO. Hope to do another Hitman and his brother Owen.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - The Rock

Awesome! I didnt know he had that look when he was still in the WWE. But I did see he was using the face paint towards the end. My fav look for jeff would have to be the hardy boy era. Really can't wait to see this! Lol incredible work man, never seen anyone do this in 1/6 but you're nailing it

The Rock looks great! I can't wait to see how Flair comes out. Curious to see what head you use.

Love those Hardy Boyz matches, especially the TLC matches with Edge/Christian and the Dudleys. That was the peak of tag team wrestling for me, it's been all down hill since those guys. I was considering doing the Hardy Boyz look but couldn't find the outfits, the green facepaint look is just a tank top and black jeans which is pretty easy to source.

I actually didn't know about this look either as I wasn't watching much wrestling in the mid 2000's. I saw it online and just loved the look. I've been catching up on a lot of old matches on youtube that I missed in the last ten years, he had some great matches during this facepaint era.

Glad you smell what the Rock is cookin! Gonna have to commission Flair. I tried to do group commissions with him, now I'm just going to do a private commission as there's never enough interest in the Nature Boy. I already commissioned a 1/6 WCW big gold with Ric Flair's nameplate so there's no turning back now!

Ray looks amazing Ted. That headsculpt is puregold. :rock

Thanks Mago! JOhnny did a fantastic job on the paint as usual with that guy.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - The Rock

Rock looks great! I was thinking about something similar with the roadblock stuff

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - The Rock

Thanks brother, the Rock likeness is pretty good in person. Hope to see a wrestling custom in your collection soon!

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - The Rock

Nice Rock figure Ted, and it's the first time I see Rey's sculpt on a figure, looks so AWESOME!. Thanks for letting me be part of your collection :)

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - The Rock

looking back a few pages, I don't know how I missed the Hogans before but AMAZING!! Congrats on those dude!

Bret's always been my personal fav, being from Calgary and all, but I think your Hollywood Hogan is the standout in your collection, perfection!

edit: Can't overlook Rey either! SO good and excellent work on the body. Ralp did a great job on those pants, his loss is very sad indeed
