Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - Goldberg WIP

yeah thinking about doing one, ill check those out and see which i feel is the best looking body.

yeah the nasty boys were among those great tag teams of the 80s and 90s that just had ring presence, a great image etc. LOD were my fave tags, i remember seeing them when the wwf did their RAMPAGE tour here in the UK in the early 90s, it was amazing.

I think you can go with the KP muscle body for an early piper. Maybe the new KP athletik or the for a long hair era Piper as he seemed to be a little more lean. I can't remember the name of that rubber muscle body, but I think it would work good for Piper as the chest isn't as big as the KP.

So are you moving forward with a Piper custom?

Love the Nasty Boys (such a great look to those guys), but I was heartbroken as a kid when the stole the belts from my beloved Hart Foundation

Thanks Mago! The guy is super-talented as we all know. I believe Stone Cold is his favorite wrestler of all time so he told me he enjoyed working on this project and it shows!

Thanks! I wish I could take credit for it, but the artists that worked on these guys are just phenomenal.

:lol in the ring, probably wouldn't ever happen (unless he just completely pissed off Vince), but behind the scenes Gillberg may have been able to take Goldberg based on accounts I've read of the infamous Jericho/Goldberg brawl.

Wish I didn't hear about that real life story as it really took the luster off the legend of Goldberg for me :monkey4.:lol

Finished Goldberg. Evilface did the stand, painted by Salvador Larocca.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - Goldberg Completed - Pg. 13

No idea what happened, it's all very sudden, I was only emailing him last week. We're currently waiting on more news. It is very sad, indeed. Such an awesome person.

Quote from WrestlingFigs:

The great figure clothing maker RALPH passed away last Saturday. I called him this morning to place an order - his wife answered the phone and delivered the shocking news.

I have no words to say. He was a great friend and we collaborated in many projects together.

He is survived by his wife children.

THANK YOU RALPH FOR EVERYTHING.

---

For those asking if clothes will still be made, I suppose the answer is no.

When he started the business, Ralph asked a few talented yet unemployed people for his production. He gave them work so they can put bread on the table. In return, we figure fans upgraded our collections like never before with his amazing products.

Only Ralph managed the business - online sales, designs, labor, and all. His wife was not involved, and neither was she a wrestling follower. His children are just...kids.

His business is likely to close permanently.

I will be going to his funeral later today and hope everyone can cooperate just in case we need to raise funds for his family.

Am still in shock.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - Goldberg Completed - Pg. 13

What?!? That's the worst!! I had made my first order from him over the summer and was planning another one! Aw man, that is really sad.

I don't know much about him, but he seemed to do everything to order. Is there any chance he has some stock left over to sell? I would buy some stuff just to help his family if there was.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - Goldberg Completed - Pg. 13

From WFigs:

Admins, I hope you allow my Ralph-related posts on the boards at this time.

I just came from the funeral of the man known to the wrestling figure community as RALPH, and to close friends and family as JOSEPH, and spoke lengthily with his wife.

A correction to my answer to a question about his age - Ralph was about to turn 49 in a few weeks. He celebrates his birthday in December.
His death was due to aneurysm. He was in a coma for two days before finally tapping out.

His wife will try to continue the figure clothing business - "TRY" being the operative word as she could not give it much thought as of now as she and her family are still grieving.

With Ralph being the breadwinner of the family, his loss obviously will have a big impact on the family's finances.
For this reason, I'd like to call on my fellow collectors, whose "little plastic men" (as Ralph likes to call them) were upgraded beyond our imagination through his wonderful creations, to pool in funds that we can donate to his family.

You can send your contributions via Paypal to [email protected].
All of these funds will go to his wife and children. Please put "THANK YOU RALPH" on the Subject line for the Paypal transfer.

If you have any message for Ralph, post it here so I can print it out and give it to his family. I'm sure they'd be happy to see how many people appreciate his work in our community.

Goodbye, dear friend.

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - Rey Mysterio 2/7

Just put together Rey Mysterio. Shaved the body down to make him a bit shorter but all the thanks goes to Cheungkinman (paint), Evilface (pants and stand decals) and Hunternyc (tats). Ralph made the pants, the guy was a true gentleman and talented as can be, RIP.

Wow, that is a very cool, one of a kind piece! What body did you use? Is it small? I see you went for WWE Ray instead of the WCW version.

I also guess you were a bit disappointed at how he was received at the Royal Rumble?

all kinds of kick *** buddy!!!

Re: 1/6 WWF Wrasslin' customs - Goldberg Completed - Pg. 13

Frikkin awesome Tbay, love it! another great add to the collection the body is innovative and genius. RIP Ralph indeed.

I was pissed off at how that disrespectful crowd treated Rey at the RR. I'm glad they were vocal and if WM30 has any chance at changing it was at the behest of the crowd reaction. When WWE heads into the less smart towns that eat up the crap they serve they just won't get the proper motivation to stop churning out a crap product. WWE can love Bryan all they want but if they don't capitalize on his momentum now it isthe difference of fostering an iconic star vs. letting a spark whittle down and waste away. I'm convinced HHH and his ego and **** booking might be the downfall of WWE, and here I thought he would be the voice of reason and get Vince's head out of his ***. Vince is actually the lesser of the two evils!

I think it was the fact that it was NOT Bryan in 30 even though he wrestled earlier so I don't know what the hell the crowd expected, that they crapped all over Rey for, It could have been the Undertaker and they still would have been pissed. Rey was in a lose-lose situation.

Thanks man, I'm happy with the way he turned out! I used the KP Athletic body, but shaved the legs down a bit. He's not as short as he should be but as long as he's shorter than the Hulkster and Old Ben I'm ok.

I was actually a bigger fan of Rey back in WCW (pre filthy animals) but my favorite moment was his debut against Chavo so I went with that look. It was just so awesome to see Rey finally made to seem important.

I haven't seen the RR match but I did read the recap and listened to the LAW podcast and thought the crowd was terrible to boo him because he always works so hard, but I blame WWE for even putting him in that position. Everyone saw it coming so why not call an audible and put a heel at that spot if you didn't want to give them Bryan?

all kinds of kick *** buddy!!!

Thanks Sean, can't wait to see the Warrior all finished!!!

Thanks Ray! Totally agree with you on Vince and Triple H. They're running the WWE into a creative toilet because they're no incentive to change it. Rey was just collateral damage from the crowd's unhappiness with the creative direction, but there are some guys that should always get respected by the crowd regardless of their agenda. If they don't have a better creative direction going into mania the crowd will do the same thing again.

I stay up to date with the product through the news and podcasts, but everytime I tune in because to follow an angle with promise (Brock's initial return, Bret's return, Daniel Bryan) they completely drop the ball on it. Seriously, when I decided to tune in to watch Bryan for the first time Steph and Triple H were just burying him (even getting in some digs on Jericho and Edge). He's the only guy getting a good crowd reaction, why not run with it? Instead they seem to be doing everything they can to bury him. I actually watched the raw where he joined the Wyatts and read that he turned against them a few weeks later! Unbelievable.

Vince killed off his competition and there's no need to be creative anymore, but it's surprising that he's testing his customer's faith in the product with the new network coming out.
