ok, i finally got around to finishing the stand & a few more tweaks.
the stand is made from scrap parts i have laying around, various pieces of trim & hardiplank for the floor and back wall. i put putty on the floor & let dry then demeled the crevice lines for the rock texture. the columns base and top are wooden candle holders i picked up at a craft shop for like 40 cents apiece. then painted and weathered to try to give it an old ruins look.

made a banner from some material & printed the snake out onto iron on transfer paper.

kinda big but my first attempt was way too small & i felt it needed some height to make it somewhat proportional.

i replaced his banana hands with some more 1/6th hands that were kind of in porportion with the body. i also repainted (pastel chalked) his body again and sealed all the skin with dullcote. so far no problems with that

thanks guys, i had fun doing it & would have been done sooner but i didnt like the first paint scheme i came up with. so i just kinda stuck to a basic look and went from there.

I really love this figure man! Really one of your best, and good call on the hands, makes a big difference :rock

thanks GB..........i guess im fairly satisfied with him but i may redo the headband. the center nose flap needs to have very tiny beads or pinheads for a raised look instead of paint but i kinda couldnt come up with anything while i was doing it and had spent way too long on this project anyway. i think this one is tied for my fav custom along with my b-17 zombie i use in my avatar.

Wow, mate, you really did an incredible job on Conan! Congrats!! :bow

thank you sir. ever look at trying to darken yours with the pastel chalk like i mentioned?? i think it would make a big difference in the look of making conan more tan.

I love it! Glad to finally see what you've been talking about. It looks really, REALLY good.:rock

I've never used chalks while repainting but I think I'm gonna get some to try out.

yea the chalks were a tip that i picked up on reading several tutorials. OSW has a real good step by step with pics & i know some of the guys here use them as well in conjuction with the acrylics. they let you add a shading effect thats easier (well easier for me anyway :D) than paint will.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to try that asap and re-work mine. Thanks for the tip!

barryo, if you ever decide to cast the Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan The Barbarian....please let me know! I'm a HUGE Arnold fan, and I've wanted a good 1:6 scale figure of him. Please let us interested board members know your Conan "Kit" recipe...send it to us in PMs...if you are willing to do that. So that we know how to correctly make the oufit and accessories for Conan.

If you do decide to start a casting list for him, please let us all know your details and prices and all of that.

Thanks! :D
