Yup, mine is yellowish too.... It doesn't bug me a ton, but she definitely has the wrong skin tone.

What? I think she's been generally accepted as having a yellowish skin tone compared to other figures. Most people just aren't overly displeased by it, but its definately there.

Hmm. I don't have the figure with me, but I wasn't struck by it being that different from the others. The hands are certainly a different color than the face, though.

If the color of the hands matched the color of the head, it wouldn't bother me looking a titch jaundiced.

Allow me to amend what I said above. I'm home now and have the figure in front of me. When I just look at her in a normal setting, and in normal light, she looks fine. I actually think her coloring looks better than that of Leia as Boushh, which is both yellowish and darker. They're both bad in comparison with Bespin Luke, though.

However, when you put her hands up by her face, her face does look yellowish by comparison. I will say, though, that it looks much worse in the picture below than it does in person, so I think just looks worse in photos. This picture makes her face look horrible, but I don't think it's anywhere near this bad in person and under normal lighting conditions. I agree with Pixeltwin that it's the difference between the colors rather than either color by itself that is the problem.

I think I may repaint her, though, if only to get the hair brown.

Thanks for the clarification icruise - I'll be picking her up from the post office tomorrow - yeap I agree looks like its the differing skin tone of the face and the hands that looks like the problem - I guess I can live with it.

Well, I couldn't resist repainting her. I think the figure is pretty good out of the box, but after the yellowness was pointed out to me, of course that was all I could see. :rotfl Anyway, I didn't try to replicate the "eye makeup" from the factory piece, since I could see that going wrong very easily. I'm looking forward to seeing what the master painters on this board can do with this figure.

I think if it was a bit more subtle it would work IMHO the lips on the SSC version look great just the single colour instead of the Naboo lips and her eyebrows look a bit too masculine... but I definatley saw a bit of Carrie in your attempt well done:emperor

Yeah I think it's getting there I would still reduce the shadow between the lips a bit more as at present it is distracting and attracts the eye too much - also maybe the colour of her eyes is to light.... she really did have dilated pupil thing happening.... I don't know why?:monkey3 but please adjust to your taste not ours :monkey1

Well, I think I'm done with her for the moment. I'm pretty happy with her now. The eyebrows were definitely too prominent in the first version, and I also think the lips were too dark. I don't really have much in the way of shadow between the lips in this version, so that may be natural shadow that you're seeing there. The figure looks somewhat different in person (and from a natural viewing distance), just as my picture of the Sideshow paint job didn't really reflect how it looked in reality.

Yeah np - I always tend to squint when I look at enlarged images of these figs tends to blur the details a bit to replicate viewing distance :lol:rolleyes:
But yeah those small changes made a big difference from the first version IMHO

I picked Leia up today - and the yellowish skin tone isn't so apparent as it is in the pics - my initial impression is that she one hard figure to get a good pose from - done right she looks a decent figure...at the wrong angle shes an expensive toy.

This is not one of Sideshow's best - in fact it comes close to being as bad as monkey arms Luke... the scuplt is her saving grace, its not a brilliant likeness but its convincing enough. If the dress was done better and longer it would of covered up a lot of the faults on this figure but alas no...

This is the type of figure that can grow on me - simply cos there is no other decent ANH leia out there...I fear for the upcoming Tatooine Han.

She looks a little reddish, rather than that porcelin skin she had. Maybe take some pics outside in regular light. Could be bounce from something in the room.

Yeah, she really isn't red in person. I tried to get her skin color to match her hands, and I think I was successful, but that isn't coming through very well in these pictures. I normally take my photos using some natural light, but these I took at night under an incandescent bulb, which may have affected the color. But anyway, while I agree the expression looks a little worried (I'm guessing that's due to the position of the eyebrows), I'm fairly happy with her, and that's ultimately what counts. :D

EDIT: I played around with the colors of the photo and got this, which is a bit closer to what she looks like.

Well, good try but the splotchy face and odd skin tone make her look like she has eczema. And, not to be offensive, but she looks like a monkey.

Why on earth would that be offensive? I thought this board was a place where people could post their work without being made fun of, but I guess I was wrong.
