alright, we can be like the hasbro figure fans and just don't buy the ones that look horrible and not complain or ask for something better everytime.Wetanut said:Then Don't. Buy. It.
No offense Amanaman, and it's not directed at you specifically, but I'm beginning to think that folks have jumped on the "b***ch wagon" and are bellyaching just to bellyache. Pretty much all the disappointments, reservations, and criticisms have been said in the 350-something posts in this thread.

I don't think it's the mud that's the problem. It's the [rest of the] coat. Too new looking.Buttmunch said:The mud seems pretty hit and miss on these doesn't it? I hope I get a "hit."

TheObsoleteMan said:I went back to these pictures in the very first post of this thread, and I have to say I really think the coat looks good here. I think people shining a bunch of light on it to take pics is making it look shinier than it actually is.
jlcmsu said:The coat is my main concern and like you said in the pics where the light isn't shining right on it the coat doesn't look as "new".
I'll ignore the childishness of the last comment, and just say that having in a room with normal lighting as opposed to having him bathed in bright lights for picture taking purposes does not equate to needing to display him in a dark room.Poggle the Greater said:Nah, it still looks new.
Of course some flying puffballs of dust did attack the bottom of it.
So let's see, as long as you display him in a darkened room and/or keep him covered in his cloak, he's great. Now those who only got the regular version truly have reason to be steamed that they didn't get the cloak because now they can't hide his craptasticness.
Some of the attempts to convince yourselves and others that this figure isn't thisclose to being made by Hasbro is comedy gold.

But it's not in the dark in those pics, it's just not being flooded with light like the other pics. You put that much light on that material and it's going to make it shine, and the picture is only going to magnify that. I'm not trying to convince you that I'm right and you're wrong. This is just my honest opinion based on the pictures I've seen and not me trying to "fool" myself into liking it.Poggle the Greater said:I'm not trying to be being childish, just realistic.
If you can honestly say that just because one pic where it's in the dark looks better because you're hiding the fact somewhat that the jacket looks brand spanking new in the light then you're just fooling yourself.
Think about the illogic behind that reasoning.
TOE said:why is the paint application still an issue around here. It has been established long ago, i think since Anakin came out, that factory paint will not be the same as the prototype. Is it really hard to understand?

The boots look so plastic ....
Thanks for the pics kg, yeah, the boots look a bit "mego", need repainting, weapons and sachel need weathering too, with jacket.
That last pic makes the eyes look distinctly different from the proto sculpt, more wide open, higher brow line, I'm sorry, but this last batch of pics won't help settle this debate IMO.
