Was the sculptor trying to emulate Ewan or was he going for . . .

I think in the Backstage Pass they said they decided for a "realistic" appearance rather than the animated look. And again, let me clarify... the original Obi-Wan sculpt is an amazing sculpt and likeness; but comparing the two side-by-side (pictures), no one would mistake the first for a real picture (again, probably because of the paint job), while you could mistake the new one on a quick glance.

Amazing, looking at Sideshow Vs the Medicom (at least in terms of Proto) Sideshow's armor looks so much better... I'm completely in awe!

I think this angle captures more of McGregor but Andy's ROTS Obi Wan is so good I don't think anything can actually 'blow it away'.

Here is what I've noticed about the prototype image:

1) The robes look hemmed, no more frayed robes?
2) It looks like there is enough gap in the armor around the joints so articulation will be minimally effected (unlike Medicoms)
3) Head sculpt is really good, I think they made a good choice going realistic. The sculpt looks like Ewan.

However I don't think I'll pick this one up because it states "LIGHTSABER DOES NOT LIGHT UP"

Damn! Now, this is exciting to wake up too. The sculpt is great and even gets that bad mullet captured to a T. Armor!!!! I knew it was coming soon was thinking more SDCC but I'll take this and all the haters can shove that up their arse. Again SS brings the heat on what looks like will be a just awesome figure.

I must say that the Clone armor on this figure looks significantly less toyish than that of Medicom's.

I almost feel sorry for chavez and the other Medi Swingers. How will they spin this?

I agree. The armor does look better than the Medicom Clones not that those look bad mind you but this just looks better.

You know they will. It will be funny to read that crap but you know they will.

I am so busy today but gosh I just have to say that this is so sweet. I knew they would come out with armored figs as soon as I got all of the Medicom figures. Ohh well I cant wait until Friday. This is the best figure I have seen in a while.
