Okay, I have decided to carefully expand my collecting habits to include 12" figs - I've been adding one or two at a time (albeit being very picky) - but Enterbay's Jack Bauer and the Hot Toys Bank Robber Joker were enough to fully grab my attention

I have the MK III Iron Man on the way, my question is what are some other iconic 12" out there?? They don't have to be Hot Toys, but they do have to have amazing quality.

Thanks for the help

I would think based on past sales Dutch and Predator are going to be among the greats and they are amazing figures.

lets see, The Superman returns 2 in 1, and the Jor el figures from hot toys.

The Talk of the community right now is the Sideshow ANH vader
The Old Ben kenobi is great companion piece for that as well.

Speaking of Star wars, The sideshow stormtroopers are nice as well.

Medicom Comic spiderman is epicly awesome, if a little fragle.

If you like Tolkien and Lord of the rings, The sideshow Lord of the rings figures are Absolutely Gorgeous.

Hot toys jack Sparrow.
It's Captain Jack Sparrow, Savvy?

Hot toys Predators, every 1/6th collection should have ATLEAST 1

I'm a fan of sideshow's Original Zombie Line, THE DEAD

If you like Ninjas 9 ho dosn't, right?) The Ignight Ninjas are Great as well, though they could do with a body swap.

Medicom Spawn has a definite WOW factor if posed properly

If you like Anime, Medicom has a Plethora of anime characters.

off the top of my head, those are .... oh... right.

how about some large pieces? sideshow 1/6th Jabba and his throne, and the hot toys power loader.

Ok, that's all i can thinkk of that are definite MUST BUY pieces.

I would think Hot Toys' Godfather would fit that iconic status. Plus it looks to be a legendary 1:6 figure to boot. Any movie buff would instantly recognize the Godfather unlike say Dutch. The Predator most likely, but not just Dutch by himself. He would just be an Arnold figure to most people, but the Terminator would certailny be iconic.

I dunno. I think predator and termiantor are probably arnolds best and if shown say this image.... I think most would say predator.

The only other movie I can think of where he dresses similar is Commando.
Up until now as well there haven't been any great figure of him as the terminator that didn't require a little ( or alot of ) customizing to look great.
I think at this point in time the hot toys Dutch is the Arnold to have in 12 inch scale.

An important factor is what properties are you interested in? There have been a pretty wide range of offerings in 1/6.
A few of my favorites:

Universal Monsters: Creature from the Black Lagoon, Dracula
New Line Horror: Leatherface, Jason Pt 3, Freddy Krueger
Robocop: Robocop and ED-209)
Bruce Lee: anything from Enterbay
Star Wars: Old Ben, Palpatine and a lot of the Jedi are stand-outs... not to mention Jabba and co
Lord of the Rings: Gandalf
Twilight Zone: any of the Sideshow figures
Terminator: T-800 from Hot Toys
Aliens: Hicks
Predator 2: Predator and Elder Predator

all good suggestions - the HT Predator (from the 1st movie) is on my list and I have always wanted a quality Gandalf; sounds like SS delivered on that one. While getting a SS Stormtrooper is high up there, I need to have a nice figure to compliment him with.

While Godfather is iconic, I've just never been a big fan.

One way to approach this is to list some of the movies/licenses you are highly interested in. Boardies can then chime in on if there are figures for that property and if they are any good. This will then prompt you to research the figures.

Right - for example if you like Batman then most people would nominate
the HT TDK Bank Robber Joker and the original suit TDK Batman.

A good place to look for ideas is the yearly awards lists compiled by
Michael Crawford at his toy review website.

Here's a couple that haven't been mentioned.

Medicom has a 2.5 version Rocketeer coming out.
Medicom Blade.
Medicom Ghost Rider.
Hot Toys Robocop.
Hot Toys General Ursus.

I can assure you as a collector of these myself, that Hot Toys is the way to go. The best for quality, sculpt, paint, accessories, etc. I would go with the new Dark Knight Batman (new suit) If you can swing it get the Dark Knight (old suit) figure first.

the ones on my to-get list are;

HT Predator (from 1st movie)
SS Gandalf (hoping to find the ex)
HT Batman Begins (original suit if the price is right)

I want to get a Jack Sparrow, but am waiting to see what SS announces regarding the PF Disney license?!

As much as I wanted to like the HT Edward Scissorhands, the likeness just looks too off - if someone has this in hand, what are your takes?

thanks for all the suggestions!!
