I realized this week that I personally have never reviewed any 12" Terminator stuff - none! So I'm correcting that issue tonight with my review of the new Sarah Connor from Sideshow. Now, I suspect I'll get some disagreement on some of the comments, but in the end I do really like this figure, and she makes a great addition to the shelf.

You can find all the reviews at the usual:

Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend!

Michael, thank you for taking it upon yourself to do this review and not giving it to a particular lackey who feels that it's far more important to focus attention upon having a sense of humor rather than a well-balanced subjective review which is what you have presented here. While I would have to disagree on a few points, mainly Trevor's sculpt which is far better in-person than the deceptive photos show but on the accesories I would have downgraded for the absence of the watch and certainly the innacurate color of her tank top for the outfit and the God-awful boots. Other than that I think you have provided an informative and well-balanced review.

Sorry, but I don't agree on the head sculpt. In person it has exactly the issues I mention, and it looks exactly the way it looks in the photos. It's not terrible, but it's certainly not perfect.

Agree with Dave, the headsculpt is almost perfect.

Besides the boots, this is one of SS best figures.

Great review Michael. The head sculpt looks better to me but I don't have one in front of me to really scrutinize. But I think you're off on what's wrong with the head size, the body is in 1/6 but the head is what's over sized. changing the thickness of the body and limbs won't help.

So when are you going to review Giles?

The Buck body is too thin in the arms and neck. I am seriously looking at a Cy-Girls body to transplant her to.

Sorry - you're right, but I think if the body were wearing more clothing, like they usually are, with more bulk up around the shoulders, the head woudn't look as out of scale. This figure has the added problem of less clothing, making it tough to get things all in scale. I mentioned in either this review or the Napoleon one how tough that is. Get the head right for the nekkid body, and it's too small for the clothed body. Get it right in clothes, and it looks like a bobble head when you start stripping off layers.

And Giles? Haven't decided yet. He's sitting here though!

Agreed. Great Sculpt, Trev nailed it. The proto paint apps (excellent) vs prod apps might have thrown it off a bit in the likeness Dept but the sculpt is certainly ON. This is the best and only 12" Sarah out there... I love it

Agree about the shoddy boots and most everything else in the review (except the SWAT hat, it isn't anywhere close to film-accurate) Also, should have mentioned the ponytail (sculpt attachment) is somewhat fragile and can break off with some posing, mine did...

Overall this figure is a godsend for many of us who were waiting over 20 years for a Sarah. I think I speak for most of us here when I say we are very happy with her sculpt and the piece.

The big problem with the Bobble Head effect is the way the head sits on the neck, it's not natural. If Sideshow's female heads had necks naturally flowing from the jawline like the males and then posted on the body, it'd look better.

Absolutely, P. Sarah is one of the best female figures I've ever seen and no Terminator collection should be without her. Sarah kicks ass!!!

I can tilt her head down a bit btw, haven't really worked it but Michael is right about the neck/head articulation with this body. HT Ripley has a similar design (head on a stick) but is far more articulated with the HT ball joint design.

I also have NO bobble head concerns with her, I've had her a week and like her more and more each day.

I hadn't thought about that. But I've looked at some film stills and Hamilton's head just looks much smaller in relation to her body. Maybe Sideshow needs to make two newer female bodies, one that looks good mostly unclothed and one that looks good clothed.

i gave her a CY body. well a BBI LAPD Somers bod. same as a Perfect Body CY but w/ rubber bendy arms. it's much more proportional than the Buck.

oh and nice review but gotta disagrre bout the sculpt. Trev nailed it. if there's anything that's making it caricature it's the paint.

I remember when the Trev Proto Sarah first appreared here and on OSW, what followed were pages of Holy censored, what an amazing HS, this kid is a genius. I think the overwhelming majority of hard core Termie Collectors were blown away seeing it. It hasn't changed.

I wish that Sideshow would start painting the exposed limbs on figures... they've done it in the past with Frankenstein and some of the earlier monsters.

Like you said its generally not a huge issue when there are a lot of clothes, but when you see this much of the figure they should really take the extra time so it looks better.

And it almost seems that on this one they didn't do as good a job on color matching the plastic.
