I agree. Some wanted the tat one. Some wanted the other SS is now giving you the option. Yes, it's the exclusive you must get but they did give you the option to choose. That to me is why SS is the best. They are saying here it is if you want it get it.

Nope not at all. I don't sweat PPO days anymore.

The only thing I worry about is plain forgetting. I always have to PPO from work in the office and sometimes I have come close to actually forgetting about it when I am working on something.

Good point. I just thought the exclusives were supposed to be things that if you missed it, it wouldn't matter TOO much. Like this, if I don't get the exclusive, I dont get it. Period. The others I want, I can live with or with out their exclusives. It will be FUN!!! Who'll miss out due to PS3?

Exactly what they should be, this hobby is about fun, not about having something others do not have and getting off on that. If you’re in it for that you're in it for the wrong reasons. The exclusive should be exactly what is described above something that the other fans can live without. A head is too important to be considered a little something extra and that's what it should be a 'LITTLE' something extra. Otherwise SS better start giving us a price cut from exclusive to regular edition to at least compensate the fan/collector that way that misses the 'huge' exclusive. Collecting is about fun and Star Wars not about snagging an 'rare' item and having bragging rights :censored

Sorry but you clearly dont understand the concept of COLLECTIBLES. Why do you even collect these things? I guarantee one reason is because they are "Limited Editions", and secondly why do you have vintage figures? I guarantee because they are "Rare". So your shpeel about getting off on having something that others dont is bogus.

Part of collecting and buying collectibles in general is having something that not EVERYONE has. that is the bottom line.

In regards to the price cut....yes it's called buying from your local retailer and saving $10 on the regular editions.

This hobby is all about bragging rights, if you cant accept that then i think you are the one whos in the wrong hobby.

I can't imagine bragging to anyone about owning an artificialy rare Star Wars doll or comic book statue. If I owned a Rembrandt or an original piece of Mozart's sheet music, now that would be something worth bragging about, but a doll?

I collect these things because they represent favorite fictional characters of mine. I couldn't care less if everyone else in the world has them, but that's just me.

Bleah. I hate the whole concept of "rare" and "hard-to-find" in this hobby. I wish everybody that wanted one could have it. I think that makes it so much better, that anybody could have the collection they want without this whole "limited number" process. I see nothing in it; why can't it be something everybody who wants can have? I think it's so much more generous that way.

Maybe for you the hobby is about bragging rights. I'm not interested in what other people have or don't have. I get what I like.

Don't listen to him, Amir. Sideshow is a big tent and there's plenty of room under it for people like us who don't collect so we can feel better than others.

Nash isn't totally wrong in his reply to you in that bragging rights in a way in involved in collecting. I get what I want/like and if someone else thinks its cool then so be it. Otherwise I don't care. However, I don't see where this is really screwing anyone over. SS has said they are doing Padme in real form as they are with Asajj basically. They are grins doing the CW head which is not what this line is based on. The other SW figures are done in real form again as will be Padme and Asajj. So to do one as a regular and one as an exclusive defeats the purpose. Now, SS is giving those a choice that want the CW Cartoon head a shot by making it an add in. That way "some" of those fans can have what they wanted. Otherwise people that don't care about the CW head can buy from SS or a dealer.

I didnt mean bragging as in litterally going to you friends and saying "hey bob I got a PF spidey and you didnt."

I meant it more in a personal way. Think of how many "Who got this item" threads that pop up, or how many "gallery show off" threads that pop up.

I dont doubt you guys or some people buy it mainly for the enjoyment of the pieces, but you cant sit there and tell me that not one part of you is into something that is limited or rare.

Granted maybe you are one of the people in this world who doesnt give one **** about a limited edition, but I think it's safe to say that the "majority" of collectors do. And that's what Im referring to, the majority.

Collecting is about having a collection of something that makes you happy, something that you can show people that says something about you. If other people collect the same thing, great! You can share that enjoyment! It's not fun if you can't share. And bragging? I don't see any redeeming quality in that kind of thing. It can make people envious, left out, or sad, and there's no way in this world I would do that to somebody. I collect because I love Star Wars, and nothing makes me happier than a fantastic figure sitting on my shelf!

OK, I'm glad you don't have any mean attitude Nash, that makes me glad. But I really would prefer that there be as many items as there are people who want them--the whole concept of something being limited makes no sense to me. I think we should give everybody a chance to get something! Yay!

TOM is ablsolutely correct about this. :) I agree... Most likely if you brag about this stuff you get pitying looks... :huh

Well its about time to get Asajj with the exclusive hopefully.

And to chime in on the previous posts, toy collecting is not something to be bragging about its suppose to be a hidden like all the other addictions that people face in their lives. :D

Where in my post did i say that I collect to feel better than others? Having something that not everyone has is far from "feeling better than others". Dont put words in my mouth dude.

The whole market on Collectibles is on having something that is LIMITED. Whether you like it or not, that is the principle of the business and has always been. Dont make me out to be the bad guy, Im not the one who started this thing. But I understand and accept the fact of what it is.

I understand what you mean Nash.. I think you appreciate a piece more if you know that you are one of the privelaged few who possess something. That doesn't imply that you take joy in what others don't have.
