With the announcement that 12" figures will be $50 -$75, I do not hold out for reasonable priced PF LOTR.......I'm guessing $450

With this in mind what will you be collecting most of?

I think we will see some of the PF in the $200-250 range. Star Wars has the 12" so far at $50 and $55. And we know a Vader in that scale will be more. Yet the SW PF have been about $250.

I'll more then likely collect the 12" line from the beginning...not sure bout 1/4 scale.

I mean I would love too, but, it's just not practical to keep dropping $300 - $450 every time a new statue is announced....

Where as $50 or so $75 is easier and would be less expensive to collec the entire line if you wanted too.

I will wait and see how they look. I will order of course, just to hold the pre-order (you can always cancel later).

I love the WETA Polystone line, am not yet convinced on the other formats. 12" figures are more like toys for sure, and the 1/4 mixed media premiums look like dolls (hey just my opinion). But if they look awesome, I will get them.

I really want to see 1:1 Scale Busts of LOTR figures similar to what they are doing with Star Wars. I want to see the beautiful Elves Galadriel and Arwen as busts. Please make it happend Sideshow!

:D

Mostly will be getting the 1/4 format pieces. Well, as long as I only get those that I really like and hopefully Sideshow do not announce too many too fast next year, then $ shouldn't be a big problem or an issue for me.

As for the doll/toy like issue on 1/4 scale format, I am a big fan of Hellboy myself. And owned both the 1/3 and 1/4 scale Abe Sapien and Hellboy from Sideshow. Personally I think the Hellboy statue was really wonderfully sculpted and well thought of in terms of his mixed media leather cape, pant, metal looking revolver and so forth. Everything fitted just perfectly and have been well thought of :D. As for the Abe Sapien statue, though it was fully sculpted in poly, many parts of the statue can still be improve in terms of details and coloring IMO :sick. Basically I think it is the balance of not over doing it when comes to mix media.

I own a few pieces of SSW LOTR statues in my collection and truely think they are second to none in poly. But when come to think of it... some of them seem to be in mixed media. Remember the string that attached to their bow?....

*Just my humble opinions :D

I'll be collecting many of the 12" figures but if an exceptional PF pops up I would be willing to shell out some extra moola for it. :D

Welp, I just crunched the numbers, and I figure if I cut milk, bread, and a couple of microwavable dinners each month...I might be able to save enough from now till they ship to afford Premium Figure on ebay =)

I'll be getting all of the 12" figures for sure. :D

I haven't really made up my mind with the PF pieces. I'm actually concidering dropping the Star Wars PF line so that I can start collecting the LOTR line. I just don't have the space, or for that matter the money, to buy both. :sick

I doubt the PFs will average over $300. I'm sure the hobbits will be in the $200-250 range and only more complicated characters will be over $300 (such as Lurtz).

But I'll be getting all of them - space be damned!

Yeah, money is going to be an issue but that's why I won't be trying to complete either the PF or 12" of LOTR or SW. SS will be getting plenty of my money that's for sure.

You won't collect the entire line of either Josh, I am suprised. I thought you would collect the entire 1/4 scale line.

Well, money and room will play a big handle on if I do the entire line of 1/4 scale or not. I may have cut my SSW collection in half but the other half still takes up a ton of room in my room. So I'm in a wait and see mode more than anything. SS will be getting lots of my money either way for keeping LOTR alive and well. :D

Josh, soon most of us will be walking down the streets with a "Will work for polystone" sign hanging around our neck :wacky
