Hey Oz it looks to be pictures of the actuall SSE Phantom slightly different pose also.

I ran some Google searches and it looks like it may have premiered at the Mayfair Theatre in Manhattan on December 4, 1931. That would put him at 44.

Of course, some other sites say November 4, 1931. :google

Toodles!

Have fun guys! I'm off to the Alan Lee book signing at Book People in Austin. I guess it won't matter if I miss a contest, I'd probably get the wrong answer anyway.

That's what I did. I even gave the name of the theatre in my answer.

Don't you know it - but I hope you know we don't do it on purpose!! What are the odds that his birthday was so close the premiere of the movie!? :google (BTW, there's no specific date of the Frank premiere on his bio page so, going by just that page, the answer is 44 - final answer :) )

I know it's not on purpose Dusty. I just get tickled that something like this always seems to happen. Definitely adds some flavor though.

They are the actual pictures of the actual production piece since it's in-stock.

Thanks Dusty, I thought so. Didn't go back and double check but thought the pics might even be in a different pose. I think I like this version better than the regular version judging from the pics.

I am sorry to say that so far, and I've been in the chatroom all day and on the page with ss and looking all over and really, so far, it is a big bore. Got the first 3 words for teh scavenger hunt first thing, have entered the 2 contests and chased tht darn pumpkin around which led to the same place for several hours then disappeared. I don't know about the rest of you out there, but unless this whole spooktacular thing picks up a little steam adn something actually happens, how many people are actually gonna stick around for 5 days! sigh, shame as all I heard forever was how great it was last year.

Yeah, I found two words the first ten minutes of the thing and now there are three.
Where the heck is the chat room?

Last year it was more random, and aggressive. Very fast paced at times, giving people anxiety attacks :p. There were Spook ads every where leading to either great discounts, or seldom trivia MotW questions. Seldom; meaning that if you didn't find the hidden Mistress question in time, you lost out. Same can be said for the random Chat questions leading to really great prizes, like ARAGORN...Which I missed. Craziness. It's only been one day, so relaxe. I have only spent about an hour, but I have found the 2 clues for the Scav Hunt, and both MotW questions so far. Seems this Spooktacular, they want to give everyone a good chance at winning, so they slowed it down a bit?

There is no official chat this year but if you click on chat room on the menu
at the top some of us have been hanging there

Berth last year was pretty intense, banners all over the place giving stuff away. This year they said it wasnt going to be so intense

This year has been really lame compared to the last one.

Fingers crossed it will get better!

See, this is what I was talking about when I mentioned that expectations might be too high - like when you go to a movie expecting it to be the be-all, end-all - and it's really just another movie. Oh well, I'm having fun! :banana

Yes, the point this year is definitely to give more people a chance and too not make it quite so anxiety-filled :)
