I'm not convinced it's Obi-Wan, but the general vibe I get regarding collector's and Obi-Wan is that AOTC is probably the least desired representation of him so it could work as a con piece and not leave people out. I imagine most people going for it will be like me and big fans of the character and wanting every representation of him, and some might get him to kitbash with their Sunhoc TPM Obi-Wan's to have the right boots and such.
That was my first thought too. Granted, it all makes sense for Obi Exclusive... but that's a figure a lot of people have been clamoring for. Any Obi-Wan in short supply will cause complaining. He's THE number one SW hero character it seems.
If it IS Obi-Wan, it's gonna cause a big decision for people like me: keep Clone Wars Obi OR get the AOTC movie version?

For me it would mean making a regular edition CW Obi-Wan available
I ordered one mainly for the HS because of how well it came out for a future AOTC figure, this would certainly solve the issue. Like I said when CW Obi premiered, the head was great so I couldn't see using anything else for an AOTC figure and SSC pretty much has the Obi-Wan costume set from ROTS Obi-Wan plus the saber from CW, so an AOTC figure would be quite easy to piece together at this point which makes him a good candidate for SDCC piece.
I'll buy any 1/6 Obi-Wan figure they ever make. Just sayin'.

Well, there were 5000 Holo Sids and 6000 Yavin Lukes, both of which were plenty available after the show, and even CW Obi-Wan is still available as Regular with only 1500 Excl. sold out, and if an AOTC figure came in around $90 which is likely, I don't think there's need to fear pissing anyone off. If they do it, I'm sure everyone who wants one will get one.
Yeah, those ES though are in the amount I was talking about. That's why I'm saying the ES would have to be in that range to cover everyone who wanted one and have some left over for those coming down the road later. I don't know if an AOTC Obi-Wan would come in at $90 unless its on the new body. $75-80 maybe but $90 would be touch high for a guy in a jedi robe. Yes, there have been enough figures left over with other items but with Con Ex people just seem to be more touchy so there is always the chance to piss more people off with them.
Well I think with the increase in prices for figures, Con exclusives are going to be as much an aggrivation as in the past for SSC, people are passing more now on figures you'd think would even do well. I don't see a con AOTC Obi-Wan being less than 4K, but even 4K could possbily be more than enough.

the only other obi wan i want is ep 1 padawan obi. having said that i have to say that irishjedi's sig already made my day.
I agree 4k will be enough especially factoring in if the price is $75-80.

But those are all minor. Yavin Luke was only on screen for a few seconds and Clone Wars Obi is more or less EU. So the demand won't be as high as it would for the and Obi-Wan version that is in the whole movie. I could be wrong, but that's my assessment. Of course I keep going back to that figure being PF Anakin of some sort so my guesses probably aren't the best to go by.

As for the con exclusives... looks like nothing I would want.. so that is good news. The Robed figure is the only one that is a maybe, as it is probably a Jedi or something...

People have been wanting him, but he's not as popular as Vader or Maul, he has a robe and a lightsaber, and we have a new armoured body...

As for the others, I heard rumours before of a 1:1 TX bust, to complement the T-800, It looks like a Shadow Guard, to go with the release of TFu, and possibly to announce if Sideshow has the rights to produce figures or not...It does look like a cosbaby next to that, perhaps an Indy cosbaby or something like that...Looks like a whip maybe...
