W.T.F....:lol

Not sure what you're talking about. Extra time is given when regular playing time is lost due to injuries or fouls. The Dutch player was down for a good 1.5 min during extra time so the ref did the right thing and extended the extra time from 3 min to 4-5 min.
Yeah, but the actual stoppage time added is still fairly arbitrary and they almost never blow the whistle at an exact time.

I think the referees have too much power personally. That might be the wrong way of putting it, but I think more officials should be utilised (as well as technology). I don't mind the game stop-starting a little more, by cutting away to get a second/third opinion, as long as they get the big, game changing decisions right.

The way FIFA has set up the system, the on field referees have ALL of the power. They can make blatantly wrong decisions (as we've seen often in this World Cup), they'll never be overturned, and they don't even have to explain themselves afterward. As one sports writer put it... "It's as if the sport is run by characters right out of KAFKA."

Like you say, they'll never be overturned, and they never have to explain themselves. Madness. :cuckoo:

FIFA need to get out of the dark ages.

Germany is going to lose , the octopus already said so.

the octopus predicted also a german-win against spain at the finals of the euro-cup :wink1:

so when he says that spain is going to win this game at the world-cup, there is hope that good-old germany will rock the house :D
