Nobody thinks that Spain might take it and with the display that the US showed today do you think they might have a chance to get to at least semis.

I'll be bummed if Didier Drogba's injury keeps him from competing for the Ivory Coast (if Canada and Scotland aren't involved-- and they're both not AGAIN this time I always big an underdog to root for... this time it was going to be the Ivory Coast)... Any new info on his status?

He had surgery on his arm and he is reported as saying he's out but the team hasn't said anything as of yet.

I think the USA has a shot, but I wouldn't say they are the definite 2nd best team in the group. As far as Spain, they are a really solid team but I don't think they can do it. The South Americans team just look really strong right now.

That's what I had heard as well but I had hoped that there might have been a different silver lining answer... Oh well.

With Portugal and Brazil in the Ivory Coast group, I didn't see them having much of a shot anyway. North Korea might even put in a good showing. Tough group.

I'm supporting A.B.E. :lol

Agreed-- but that's why they were going to be (and still will be) the team that I was going to root for... If it's not one of my two homes (Canada and Scotland) then the Robbie Burns in me will go for the underdog everytime.

It must be great being Scottish, you can support any team you want during the world cup, seeing as your Team never gets to go. :wink1:

rather that than suffer the heartache of losing in penalties every world cup :nana:

PS. it ain't the English people I'm against....it's the media, it's like have national pride all the time, not just when a world cup is on and the press go on about how your guys are world beaters yet only won it once and that was 41 years ago

Scotland team ain't the best but at least we know it and just party :lol
