Actually his left foot touched the Uruguayan player. They just showed it. But still, it wasn't intentional but matters like this, it's hard to argue.

Wow! Guy gets his toe clipped just a bit and goes down screaming like he got shot.....and that's what turns people off to this sport. :(

Barely, the question is...did the foot stop the striker from doing anything?Hell no,he just dived over the Goalies leg,the Goalies leg was just "there".

Yes soccer was not like it used to be,and i am not talking about the better and improved tactical play, but the players themselves, diving and faking an injury by planting their face deep down in the grass while holding their leg.

I have always loved soccer and always will, but young kids today watching these "divers" will turn out the same way, this is what soccer is today unfortunately.

I know. It sucks but it was a difficult call on the referee. But South Africa now has to climb out of this hole...somehow. :(

Same here. I've loved soccer ever since I was little but these fake dives are really getting annoying. I hope FIFA makes some regulations and gives out harsher penalties to deter players from doing this crap.

I could really give 2 rat's ***** about some other country's team

I'm was talking about just enjoying the sport. You can watch other countries and not give a damn but still enjoy a good match, which you'll see by watching most other countries besides the US. ;)

Definitely a shock loss for Spain, but it was never going to be easy for them against Switzerland. They're a very good defensive team, and during the last World Cup, didn't concede any goals at all, but were eliminated during a penalty shoot-out.

The penalty during the SA vs Uruguay game was soft, but what can you do. It happens all the time, so I wasn't not shocked to see it given. Perhaps SA can get a result against France, seeing as how they work poorly as a team and haven't been playing great football.
