On the radio yesterday, they were trying to convince a guy to watch soccer and he just wouldn't. His argument was that any game you can play without any arms isn't a real sport

of course! cause controlling a round object with your feet is childs play. I love it when people criticize sports..they come up with the stupidest reasons not to watch it.

My buddies at work use "it's boring" as their excuse.... So I point out how "boring" football and baseball and basketball can be. Boring games ARE BORING, but a kick ass, amazing, super dramatic soccer game is every single bit as good as those other three American sports.... Folks just need to give it a try.

Still, it's catching on here in the states, no matter what anyone says.

Or my other favorite is this "not enough scoring".... It could be just the opposite? Basketball has a ____ load of points scored but no one gets really excited for them till the end, unless it's a dunk I guess. So what's better? A goal that might just decide the whole game or 25 free-throws that just get mixed up in all the constant scoring? I'd take a goal like the one Diego Forlan scored that went off the defenders back in the South Africa game this morning any time.

Yes soccer was not like it used to be,and i am not talking about the better and improved tactical play,but the players themselves,diving and faking an injury by planting their face deep down in the grass while holding their leg.

I have always loved soccer and always will,but young kids today watching these "divers" will turn out the same way,this is what soccer is today unfortunately.

You could also say that football can be low scoring as well at times. A 14-7 is really 2-1. If every goal scored in soccer was 6 points soccer would be a "high" scoring game.

NOOOOOooooo.....I admit it's fun to choose a team to win in each match. But I've always supported Argentina ever since I can remember.
So if they don't get to play in the final (which won't happen) I'll be upset.....but I guess your right, it won't take away from the fun, unless its some match I don't care about like France vs Switzerland or something.
