Re: 2011 on the Horizon... What HT do you want to see (this category Aliens & Robots)

For robots I want a Johnny 5 and on the alien side, I think E.T. the extra terrestrial would be rather cool with a light up heart, extendable neck, and maybe some Reese's Pieces and Coors Beer. It'll never happen, but its fun to think about what ifs.

Re: 2011 on the Horizon... What HT do you want to see (this category Aliens & Robots)

GREAT THREAD Spewer... I would like to see HT Revisit the ROBOCOP line. A BATTLE DAMAGED ROBOCOP would be on my purchase list. A removable helmet with accurate WELLER likeness :yess: And the helmet fits without his NOSE peeking out the bottom :lol I have always wanted an OFFICER LEWIS with all her gear. That's what I would like to see. With ROBOCOP'S 25th ANNIVERSARY coming in 2012 MAYBE just MAYBE we will see some more ROBO love from HT.

Re: 2011 on the Horizon... What HT do you want to see (this category Aliens & Robots)

Isn't "The Guardian" essentially a re-release of various Predator stuff with 3 maybe 4 new items?

You're correct, but by that definition they've only made 5 rather than 15 predators to date. It's not even their fault, really, since the movie designs have massive re-use of components to begin with.

I can see HT doing 'improved' versions - like Joker, Battle Damaged P2, Sheva Alomar - rather than full rereleases. The Marines are crying out for this treatment, and an unmasked Scar Predator would be great.

Still, I personally hope they keep going with Predator 2 - there is scope for at least one more Lost Predator, maybe 2. Hopefully the sales of the Guardian Predator have convinced them there's a market there.

the Guardian sold so well because it's a con exclusive. period. the Lost pred took forever to sell out anywhere. i got mine clearanced out for well under retail. i'm betting if HT makes any more lost clan preds, they're gonna be exclusives too. otherwise, they'd just sit around taking up space in the warehouse like the Lost did.

:1-1: I like the way you think.

I think you've got a good point there - though I also suspect that part of the problem with the Lost Predator was sheer fatigue. From 2006 to 2008 HT released 4 Predators each year (not counting Ani-Com Scar or Machiko!), with Lost being the last of them. I suspect the Predator market was a bit over-saturated; it seemed that the AVP-R Cleaner had a similar slow sell-out. Since then we've only had 2 (P1 and Guardian) so wallets and nerves have recovered a bit.

The other thing is, the whole "Con Exclusive" thing has been rather blown by how they've handled the Guardian Predator, with people getting waitlist conversions months after the initial sales, and further re-releases. I imagine that any future Con Exclusive will be treated with a lot more scepticism.

:cuckoo::cuckoo::cuckoo: Im talking about aliens queen not the t-rex sized avp queen alien:slap
so am i. and the AVP queen is bigger than any t-rex i've ever heard of. it's bigger than a 2 story building. the queen in Aliens is about 15ft tall. the AVP one is over 20ft.

you really think that's gonna be a $600 toy you can put on a shelf?

i hope you're right. the PPO was a huge pain in the ass and i'd rather not have to go through it again.

that's actually plausible. he's about the size of the power loader, so i could see HT making it. i still have the Halcyon 1:8th scale ABC kit from back in the day.

Oooh, ABC War Robot!:goodpost:

Re: 2011 on the Horizon... What HT do you want to see (this category Aliens & Robots)

Yeah, if we're talking re-release, I'd have to go with Aliens USCM Corp ver. 2.0 pack. With the current HT sculpting Kung-Fu realizing some of the most realistic 1/6 figures to date, these classic reboots are a no-brainer. EX would include a severed Bishop.

Re: 2011 on the Horizon... What HT do you want to see (this category Aliens & Robots)

DX T-800

including:

- gatling gun with AMMO-BAG!
- black gloved hands
- M-79 grenade launcher
- shotgun
- sunglases
- battle damaged options

AND, as icing one the cake, the Harley Davidson FAT BOY (the production of Tamiya's version of the 1/6 motorcycle is long time discontinued and this year is the 20th anniversary for the Fat Boy. Time to buy the licence and make it happen HT!) :rock2
