It's not but its still good. It's not like twilight it has a good story. With a happy/sad ending.

People's choice is essentially all the middle school kids who text in their vote before 8pm bedtime and thats how the winner is chosen.

Putting any stock in that is letting a 13yr old girl tell you what a good movie is. :lol

Don't underestimate that target audience. Those kids are HUGE money makers for the industry. Who cares if it's shat if it makes a ton of money. I'm sure the executives dont' care.

What does any of that have to do with what makes a good movie. I'm saying the differance is, while both are ultimately bs, Oscars are chosen by people who understand the technical aspects of filmmaking and dont just think Chandler Tatum or w/e has nice abs. You text in your vote for the People's Choice. That says it all.

exactly the people who watch 16 and pregnant aren't qualified to judge tic tac toe.

Shore's score for Two Towers didn't receive a nomination because it contained too much material from a previous score (Fellowship, of course) and was considered ineligible. The rules have changed a bit since then and The Hobbit is eligible for a nomination, but I think that so many existing themes from LOTR were used that some voters might think that Shore has already been given an Oscar for a good chunk of The Hobbit's score. Probably the most memorable new theme was the Misty Mountain song, and although it was used a lot throughout the score, Shore didn't write it. I thought it would have received a nomination for best song, and that surprised me more than the lack of a score nomination.

I posted the rules in The Hobbit thread and I don't think The Hobbit is elgible by reading those because of using some music from LotR.

It doesn't. I was simply pointing out the massive amounts of money that studios get for turning out crap due to that demographic. I would do the same thing if I could. It's all about the money baby! :lol

Who would have guessed that Avengers would have gotten more Oscar nominations than TKDR?

I would have simply because of costume, visual, etc. I admit I'm surprised both didn't get a BP Nom on hype and money made alone.

I'm guessing not many people on this board saw Life of Pi. The discussion thread on it is tiny. It was my favourite film of the year and I think it deserves oscars in the sound and visual departments at least.

I'm sad to see that End of Watch got snubbed. Michael Pena deserved a Best Supporting Actor nom... if you disagree with me, then watch the film.
