Fournette was snubbed for the Heisman, as expected. In college football, it pays to play well toward the end of the season rather than early on in multiple ways. But the real shame of it all is that Fournette was a victim of his O-line's bad play and bad coaching toward the end of the season. He's also victim to a game cancelled due to weather. He has more yards per game than Henry, who will probably win. Oh, well. The system is biased toward offensive skill position players anyway. I don't follow college football all that closely, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the best player was really an O-lineman or a defensive back.

No. He was overrated. He stacked up yards against mediocre teams and when he finally played a big boy team he got handled. Just as the whole LSU team did.

I think McCaffery should win but won't since his team plays on the west coast. He has about the same average as Henry and Henry did NOTHING else (ok he has a whole 97 yards receiving). If Henry wins is pure school/conference bias.

Here is the key game.

Against LSU Henry 38 rush, 210 yards, 3 tds. Carried his team to the win.

Against Alabama Fournette 19 rush, 31 yards, td. His inability to successfully run cost his team the win.

I don't think someone should win the Heisman when they don't show up in the biggest game of the year.

I saw that game, and it didn't have much to do with Fournette. It was the O-line. Alabama's defensive line dominated, as I mentioned before. And the play calling by Miles et al. was disgraceful, doing Fournette no favors. But of course, that affects how players are evaluated, and is no doubt biasing the Heisman reviewers in the same way you are describing.

kinda like the season with no true dominant team...Bama will roll over the Tigers so championship game will follow suit.

First half of Clemson/Oklahoma was good. I enjoyed the Michigan game

But yeah, nothing to great yet.

How many think that there is way too much hiatus between the reg season ending and the playoffs. I'm betting these defenses got soft except for Bama

Wait so we need 8 teams? So Clemson would have destroyed a depleted ND team. Bama would have got OSU and really no way that was going to go the same two years in a row. Oklahoma would have likely got crushed by Stanford. And we would have had a rematch of that snoozefest that was the big 10 championship game.

8 teams would gave give us some more bad games. 6 is bad idea since it gives an advantage to teams who are arbitrarily chosen.

All this bowl season has shown is that Stanford may have got the shaft and would have been rewarded had they played a cupcake to start the season.
