So he agrees to a price, then actually gives the guy less? That's a ____ty thing to do. And by then, the seller has committed to sell, so he's probably willing to take it.

Yep. He did it to this one guy and he stopped for a second and a look on his face that said" F it, I got higher then I expected I would".

That is the thing that I boggles my mind about this show, is when you see someone with a single valuable item yet they are willing to sell it for so little.

I guess they could intend to return and purchase it back, but seems most people don't come back to claim their items.

You mean pawned items? because the majority of transactions shown on the show are sales. two different things. Pawns that I can remember are: Dino teeth, a bicycle, guitar and Clinton's condom.

Anyone going to a pawn shop expecting to get even 50% of the value of an item are idiots.

Love the show and loved the offer. The guy should just ebay it.

Was also surprised the collector was black. Most toy collectors are nerdy white dudes.

Oh, I see... yeah I meant come back to reclaim their pawn. I assumed that since it was a pawn shop that's how it was going down :lol

I think Evilface should be wearing something to cover his mask... maybe a sheet. Also gif.

Well the Pawn Stars show isnt about the pawn side of the business really, its mainly about the historic stuff they get. And most of the time people sell rather then pawn it.

*Mod break*:rotfl

i watched this show for the first time the other night and i couldn't believe that lady with the flag that started at $23,000 and dropped to $4,000 right away.

When are you going to return mine?

Yea, it's Antique Roadshow for general stuff.

That’s pretty much the only reason I watch. I just love to see all the cool stuff people bring in. I don’t really care much about the employees.

Pawning is having them give you a loan and in exchange they hold an item of yours usually worth more than the value of the loan. If you don't pay it back, they keep your item.

Your comment is not funny at all. :slap I guess you cant help it since your from Texas. Glad to see how some people think.

Exactly. Great historical items that people would probably never get to see because it was in some garage or attic. like the George Washington signed lotto ticket.

I don't find the younger, extremely fat guys to be entertaining in any way.

Chum and Cory? Chum is an idiot so he doesnt bother me but Cory is annoying. he acts like he's the best thing in the world.

That was an awesome vid man! I don't think any of us would ever see a transformers collection like that EVER if it wasn't for your vid, so thank you! Everyone always gets huffy when they offer such a low price for something worth so much, I understand why they do it but sometimes eBay or a private auction is just a better and more profitable way to go. Sometimes the pawn guys get it for cheaper cuz someone is desperate for cash and they hit a home run. But in this case the guy knew what he had! Too cool either way.

I love Antique Roadshow... its amazing what some of the stuff they bring in is worth and the stories behind how the items got there.

Don't see as much of that here, there's a bit and I think they try to play up that angle. But really its about the Pawn shop making calculated buys and maximizing their turn around.

I noticed when I moved here to Oklahoma that pawn shops were a lot more common, there's at least 5 in my town. Whereas the town I grew up in (about the same size) had one :lol I was pretty excited to check them out, but quickly learned the deals weren't good and most of the stuff was crap :lol
