I can't imagine at all. Truly tragic. Hope the hurt can get some decent help.

At press time for yesterdays morning paper they were at 348 or something. By the time I got to reading it the tv reports were saying over 10,000.

Worst part is from what I'm reading they are not letting any country in to help...

WOW! This is awful. I am reading the news story now. I hope they allow other countries to come in and help. That's awful.

Holy ^^^^. I can't believe the death toll....
Myanmar's military regime has signaled it will welcome aid supplies for victims of a devastating cyclone, the U.N. said Tuesday, clearing the way for a major relief operation from international organizations.

This is good news at least.

And how much would you guess this won't be on the TV right now?

You just have to love the media's prorities on stuff like this.

Id be surprised if its anywhere near that high, the media exaggerates this stuff all the time.
Remember the New Orleans initial totals and the stories about the dead bodies in the stadium?
Im sure its bad enough though.

INCREDIBLY tragic, but I must admit to getting quite the strange mental picture as I started to read this sentence:

Buddhist monks and Catholic nuns wielding knives and axes joined Yangon residents Tuesday in clearing roads of ancient, fallen trees that were once the city's pride

Yeah I was thinking the same thing when I read that part. Not often you read that. It's like straight out of a movie.. a comedy. No, it's no laughing matter, but what a doozie of a line to read. Especially if this is based on true events.

The Burmese government didn't provide advance warning of the storm to their populace. Then they initially refused foreign aid. A terrible tragedy made even worse.

Collectibles kinda seem insignificant now don't they?

I was thinking about that myself. Here I want all of these grails.. when in reality it's polystone... and these people have lost family and friends. I know what I need to do...help in anyway.. maybe donate. Like I did for the tsunami that hit Asia years ago.

Man this is tragic, after learning of the political climate in that area from RAMBO, I just have utter sympathy for the citizens there, and this is just more horror for them :(

If only they would fight crime afterwards, that would be pure awesomeness

Actually sources from myanmar state that the death toll is closer to a 100.000 but the regime doesnt want to look bad so they reduced the number. People in Myanmar have very poor health and are sooner to die from these disasters than healthier richer people. This news is tragic indeed.
