In the teaching realm second jobs are as common as wearing shirts to work. A friend of mine who is supporting two young children and a wife out of work has three (regular job, night school and a job at a restaurant). When Master Replicas was up and running, I used to do some freelance writing for them which I considered my second job since I made a good amount every time I did something. Before they were sold to Corgi, I was even prepping a couple of pieces for a magazine that was supposed to be part of their Collector's Society. That is the kind of second job I want, something that lets me write until then I'll just have to pass on some of the great pieces offered.

Not as much as Iron Man 2 did and the upcoming pic with Zach Galifianakis will probably cut into that as well. :lol

This thread is inspiring me to attend a local bartending school and get going on a second job.

When I thought about tending bar I talked to some of the bartenders in resturants and such and most said you don't have to got to school, that you're trained on site.

yep, the school/bar license just gives you an edge on those who dont have it.

But i'd say 90% of places you have to work your way up to the position. YOu start off as barback, which basically you are replenishing the liquors and kegs, and washing glasses, restocking, etc. Then if youre lucky and there is an opening for you, they'll move you up and train you as bartender.
