I sure hope the next goal is 12k and not some ridiculous stretch like 15k. A lot of carbonite block speculation out there right now.

Almost every single star wars vehicle hasbro has put out is under scaled. Including the barge, which is also very very under scaled.

Even something already small like a speeder bike is somewhat under scaled. Its about balancing cost, space and playability. As well as scaling with ther other vehicles (which are not one uniform scale. A speeder bike is less under scaled than the sail barge is)

On the big Millennium falcon for example, the figures are bigger than the doorways. Its very under scaled as well.

The reason they don't often feel so sma is because they're generally just big enough to feel big enough. Especially in comparison to other vehicles.

Yeah I think the only vehicle that hasn't been underscaled is the Snowspeeder - the vintage Kenner one was supposedly a little OVERsized.

Even the newer more "correctly scaled" Jabba skiff is maybe 20% too undersized.

I imagine the reason they are under scaled is because its just not practical to have them to the proper scale for a majority of people and Hasbro knows this. I want a Razor Crest, but I dont want one thats 6ft long, that just be ridiculous imo.

They have long called it the “feels right scale”, striking a balance between practicality, cost, and playability.

Ships and vehicles would be enormous if they were all properly scaled, making them unplayable and difficult to display.

I think they generally do a pretty good job of finding the right size, though recent Vintage Collection offerings could be a little bigger.

That’s all fine for the majority of fans BUT going forward Hasbro should offer the vehicles in different scales all the way up to accurate scale for those that want it.

Want proper scale no problem show us the money its going to cost you.

Want wimpy wanna be scale here you go $350 lol

But it also comes down to how many people will buy a 6ft long Razor Crest and other vehicles. I dont think they would sell that many. The size of the one we we are getting is pushing it a bit honestly.

That’s ok Hasbro can charge appropriately to pay for the process.

Apple has iphones that range from $350 to $1,500.

Grant it not an apples to apples comparison but different tiers is possible.

Believe me when I tell you that there are plenty of collectors who would absolutely pay for a properly scaled SW vehicle.

How much is that Hulkbuster again.

A proper scale Desert Skiff would be pretty manageable - maybe you wouldn't put it next to the Barge if you wanted to maintain a somewhat accurate relative scale between vehicles but as an independent display it'd be great. Luke could swing his lightsaber and not accidentally decapitate Han Solo.

The Landspeeder and Tantive IV Escape Pod would be other good candidates.

I still wish they'd make a correctly scaled Skiff. The figures look cramped even on the new one.

I wouldn't say they are cramped the way the old POTF mold version was, but yeah a properly scaled skiff would have only been maybe 15% bigger and would have been do-able.

Though yeah then you have a situation of the skiff being 50-60% the length of the barge and it looks weird again.:gah::lol

Jack Black headsculpt inside that Biker helmet.:lol Funny as we discuss stuff that's over or under scale.

I still haven't got my display cabinets sorted yet.:gah:

Neither have I. Not sure I ever will. If I'm going IKEA the stuff I'm looking at is only partially in stock at any given time and that puts me off. Then I end up changing my mind about stuff anyway - about the arrangement, about the type of shelves, can't even decide on the colour of shelves I want. All they seem to have is white for certain stuff but white bores me...and ultimately it turns yellow anyway :slap

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the detolf display so I majorly went down the BESTA rabbit hole - faux-wood to start with, then white. For BESTA I actually think white helps because I have so much stuff in them it gets kind of dark toward the back without lights on if it's anything but white.

I also like white for SW because so much of it is earthy colors (stormies, snowies and Luke farmboy the exceptions) that stuff gets a bit lost without the brighter white background color.

We are planning a redo of some rooms anyway so I may finally put up a few more $ and get some professionally built display cabinetry.

Problem for me is that I don't like having SW stuff visible all the time - I like the ability to close it off so nothing is visible, then opening some doors and everything is visible. I find it keeps the excitement level up - you get used to it otherwise and it can also become visual pollution - 6" and 4" stuff especially.

I curse myself both for the amount of stuff I've collected over the last 25 years and for the range of scales. It really complicates the task of choosing shelves. As Threepio famously said in Attack of the Clones - It's a Nniiightmmaaarrre!

It’s all good my stuff is all mixed scale as well!

Displaying a collection is super stressful for me lol

I feel your pain.

Yup white is the superior color..

:chase

FOR SHELVES SHEESH!

Yes I do prefer white book cases as it allows my collection to pop against that background although well lighted glass shelves is still best. Not detolf glass screw that crap i’m talking about lengthy horizontal thick glass shelves with tons of bright lighting.

I want all my Star Wars toys in a large custom room adjacent to the study that you can only access by turning the candlestick 30 degrees to the left.

Someday [emoji38]
