Its a memorable scene at least with all the main heroes and lots of cool background creatures set is a remote desert setting with some cool floating vehicles. That is about as Star Wars as a single scene can get.

Sure, the Falcon or Death Star are more iconic, but they have been done in various ways over the years and the barge hasn’t. If this ever funds, I’m sure we’ll get versions of the MF and DS eventually. This is just the start the start of a new thing for Hasbro to try to make new, unreatailable items collectors want. Funding this only opens more doors for new items. Even if this doesn’t hit 5,000 it will be close and show Hasbro there is a demand for these kind of items. This might have been mismanaged with an incomplete prototype at the start, but it certainly isn’t a failure even if it doesn’t fund. The “lab” part of Haslab even recognizes this is an experiment and any scientist should be able to learn from failed experiments and try again with making corrections from the results.

I agree that for what it is this new Barge toy is awesome. As I mentioned earlier when it was announced it's almost the SW equivalent of Castle Grayskull combined with the USS Flagg. But at the end of the day for the money and size I personally would lean toward the Falcon. But for people who had the space the BMF Falcon, BMF AT-AT, and this Barge would make an awesome trio (should this one get released.)

The Flagg was nearly EIGHT FEET long.:horror:lol It probably cost the equivalent of nearly $300 in today's dollars.

And compared to the Grayskull, this barge price is about the same given that Grayskull was a simpler style of item (both in "retro vintage" design and execution) and was $300 - five years ago.

Not to throw a wet blanket on anyone's excitement over the potential of this piece but I would never be able to devote the cash and display space to this piece on account of how little screen time it ultimately got in the Saga. If I ever bought a 3.75 inch centerpiece it'd have to be the Falcon since I could alternate the dioramas at any given moment to accommodate Mos Eisley figures, Death Star hangar, Echo Base, Cloud City, Home One hangar or hell even those sandstorm deleted scene figures from ROTJ.

With the massive barge you get to represent the Sarlacc Pit sequence and nothing else.

You are a wet blanket incarnate. :lol

To be sure all those ideas sound fun as well, one would hope this would kick off a long line of fan wanted favorites, akin to the lego UCS series.

My LCS just got the first new wave of TVC. Sadly the Hoth Rebel was gone, but I picked up Snoke.

He's 100% just the Black Series figure scaled down. Same robe material too. Only difference is that he has a sculpted collar this time.

Barge grew by close to 100 today, and the days not over

It's going to be close ....

Thank the maker the forum is back. It was getting boring just mindlessly refreshing the Haslab page and Rebelscum. Now I can add SSF back into the mix......and realize that there'd be nothing new to read anyway......

Yeah, he looks pretty good in-person. It's a little jarring to see a CGI image on the cardback though, if that makes sense. :lol

All the other figures were either repacks or ones I already had, so I decided to get him.

No it does make sense. That was one turn-off to the VTC prequel figures for me, including even the Clonetroopers. I wish they used an actual screenshot for Snoke's card because he looked so damn good in TLJ.

Yeah. Or put him on a TFA card and use this.

It's too bad we have to wait until 2019 for new OT TVC figures. I might get figures with new molds like Doctor Aphra though.

I really hope they scale down the new 40th ANH Vader for this line since he looks perfect. None of the 3.75" Vaders have looked right to me, except for the BS ROTS version which falls apart when you look at it.

Is it true that Hasbro also put tape on the edges of the bubble? No where the weapons are, but where the bubble meets the cardback. I read that on Rebelscum and thought WTF.

There were a few series quite a long time ago where hasbro taped part of the bubble to the card.

Wow, I didn’t know. I guess these bigger bubbles and figures don’t stay on as well or they’re worried they wouldn’t.

Which is dumb since they didn't need to make the new bubbles so oversized to begin with but what can you do. Even with the tape and multilingual labels on some of them I still love these new cards.
