Anyone know who makes these...? Small, medium and large apparently.

Those look really awesome, but they're probably statues right?

Yeh, statues.

I first saw them on youtube, and with some squinting saw that Sandboxr was on the stand at the back. Googled that, and they are a 3D printing, modelling company that teamed up with 343 to make custom spartans of your choosing.

I'll keep my 3A simply because it's a great statue, and even though it has less articulation than the resident of a coffin, i still kind of like it.

I will be armor and character building these i think. Kotobukiya 8.5inch. Articulated from waist up, but i reckon more tech suits with different stances will be made eventually, and maybe entirely articulated. I have the Artfx Halo 4 Chief and he is awesome, so i'm hoping the smaller figs will be just as good.

I'd really like to see Kotobukiya get the 1/6 gig, and go full articulation on it.

Such a shame that one of the biggest sci fi franchises has to resort to 3D printed statues and hardly painted model kits.

Seriously, why the hell aren't there any high end companies pushing to get this license? Especially this close to a new release

cause its tied up by mcfarlane and 3A...

you cant just have licenses for everyone, not how it works

Apparently Disney doesnt understand that then. Marvel and Star Wars seems to be given out to any company that even mutters their name.

Halo has a lot of different companies doing its stuff too, however my complaint is that only one of those companies makes really high end collectable figures, and they obviously don't give a **** about doing that here.

If it's really being tied up by then, I'll just have to keep putting pressure on them where I can to urge them to drop the license. Seriously, its not like they're even getting anything from it. Obviously the sales aren't good enough to keep having regular releases, and they're so swamped and busy delaying literally every figure they "make" that they wouldn't even notice a ding in sales if they dropped the line.

Especially after what they did to Chief.

They can choose to license however they want. The problem is we don't know what licensing contracts 343 has made and what restrictions those contracts include.

Disney never doubles up on licenses though, however they can break down a license or character by movie title, region, a video game etc. which is why disney has so many products out, but they are never doubled up in one area or region. Halo though massive, is not star wars or marvel, and it seems 3A grabbed the license for multiple games (maybe all?) in 1/6 scale and they have a global agreement, 343 could theoretically create a "japan/ china north america etc.." or Halo 1/2/3/4/5" break down when the licensing with threeA lapses, but until then theres not gunna be much happening

and Neca has classically done 1/4 scale figures by getting an 18" figure license to compete in the 1/4 market withought needing to wait for licenses to lapse, only problem is its hard to get good "scale " between a human and spartan when both measure 18" :lol

I realize at this point i'm exhuming the dead horse; but AnthonysCustoms put up his review of the chief. Aside from toys210's review it seems to be the only other comprehensive review in english.

He get's really scathing towards the end; but he's right, this figure looks awful.

This picture needs to be out out way more than just here. Someone post it on their fb page

Hi Bob 121, I actually posted on World of 3A, on their FB page, and it was quickly taken down. I've browsed One Sixth Republic and there are a lot of fans who didn't know about the issue of the figures, but some were fine with it. I'm so disappointed that I'm thinking about NECA's 1/4 ... but I was hoping to create my 1/6 scale cybord collection.

Wow that really sucks to hear about. I hope when everyone gets it they realize we need to stop supporting the Halo line from 3A.

3A wasn't on my radar when the deal was announced. Were the details of the licensing agreement announced along with it? I guess I'm just wondering how you know the details of the agreement.

There is doubling up going on already in Halo. Sideshow, McFarlane and Koto have all put out statues at the same time with the McFarlane and Koto statues both being Halo 4 MCs.

Koto and Weta also put out Halo 3 statues at the same time. 1/6th scale figures may be different but I haven't seen any evidence to support that.

licenses can be hacked 100 different ways to sunday, internally, all those statues would either be different scales, styles, games, maybe even frames. its hard to know specifics on a license, most companies will state in an announcement, or you find out through other companies telling fans they arent able to license because so and so has it, or cant do that scale. Neca does this a lot, specifically when they announced their Chief (18"), people asked if they would do it in line with mcfarlanes 12", they stated they could only do 18" and props... couldnt do 7" because mcfarlane has an Action figure license exclusively, and bungie/343 was pleased with them. Also Neca lost the assassins creed 7" license to mcfarlane exclusively, so that license is obviously not scale or size specific.

If the licensor (ubisoft) ato, on the next license renewal they could break it apart into all kinds of scales, mediums etc... (like disney/marvel do) then its up to a company if they want to play that game and compete. with Marvel and disney its worth it to compete, with Halo? maybe not so much.

This was so uncomfortable to watch.
Both for its undeniable truth and mostly because it really made me think very poorly of not just this pile of poo....but more for 3a.
With an entire side of 1 room filled with 3a toys....
It made me think what 3a really thinks of us collectors of THEIR toys...
Not good. At all

Truth hurts!
The reviewer was spot on and he really likes his Halo stuff.

You reminded me of those awesome statues with Chief an Arbiter back to back and Chief jumping over the flood carrier, I always wanted them and I have never seen one for sale! :gah:

Why on earth did they create such a thick rubber suit? Why not have a bigger, muscular body that they could use for most of the Spartan figures and have a suit similar to the Hot Toys MoS fabric? That way it wouldn't have hindered the articulation at all and given a more slender look to Chief in the waist.

Yeah, that's my point. We don't know how 343 has carved out the license out of what has been explicitly said, which isn't much. It's not surprising to hear the McFarlane has the action figure sized category locked in. It's funny that NECA has just the license for 18". I wonder if they'll do anything other than Chief.
