Re: [RIP Workshop | 8-bit] FOX • GRIMES • SCULLY • DAVID • COLLATERAL • GRIMES

I think with the full outfit on, the body works fine. The jacket wasn't huge on him, but it wasn't perfectly slim fitting either. Now if you want to display him sans jacket with rolled up sleeves, then you might face a problem with him looking too buff. What you've got there looks pretty dang perfect, outside weathering I wouldn't change anything. Share some more pics! [emoji38]

Damn this looks great! Can't wait to see your version all weathered up.

thanks much artoo :) i'm really excited to work on it in the future :) i'm really torn between the two sculpts so i'm thinking i will just paint both to match the finished custom :)

you know what? i think i agree with you. the clothes were put on sort of cursory anyways, so they do fit just a tad better than pictured. i think some additional padding may or may not be necessary but i will probably just opt for the tt slim :) i'm really looking forward to finishing my custom. i just threw on a painted head to sort of visualize. i'll consider the whole thing more when i work on the actual figure :) i'm really looking forward to weathering the figure because walking dead lends itself to so much texture and detail given the right parameters :)

another denzel :) looks better in-hand - not too sure how to photo :)

different lighting/4-up - different light levels and angles

over lit to show details ;)

it's weird how blue the black hair looks in some pictures - though i did opt for a black that popped off the skin color (carbon black which has blue tones to it). the bottom set of photos truly reveals the color of the hair when not flooded with light. i figured i have to do whatever i can since the pallete tends to 'eat' light.

thanks much sirgor. that's a fantastic compliment :) honestly, i think i'll start small with basic mods on existing sculpts. it's by far the easiest learning curve as the vast majority of work is already present and in scale - just adding hair, beards, deformations, etc. is no problem. for full sculpts & some accessories i'll probably go digital as it's more forgiving as far as tweaking goes with as many non-destructive edits as necessary. i have a digital background, so learning new software isn't usually much of an issue plus there's lot of learning editions and free demoes out there. that's a ways off though, as i'll be teething so to speak with basic mods when the time comes. i'd also like to learn how to sew :) it's all part of the plan.

Re: [8-bit paint commissions] FOX • GRIMES • SCULLY • DAVID • COLLATERAL • GRIMES • N

just a note for future commissions - my fee is going up. if we've already discussed rates and you're scheduled for a paint-up, don't worry - i'll stick to our agreed fee. from now on, however, i'm charging more than i charged when i first started as the quality has gone up as well as the time spent achieving it. i hope it's understandable - a necessary evil unfortunately.

For the superb quality of the work you do and how you bring each and every paint up to life, it's well worth it buddy. [emoji6]
No problem here

I definitely second that. Always love visiting this thread. Have some more heads in mind to request you to paint, when your backlog clears a bit. :)
