I had no idea who maniac 1980 was, but man that's a nice paintup. Lots of good stuff happening in here. Davidsan, you have a black belt in painting, definitely not a canvas belt from J.C. Penny

maniac is a pretty notorious slasher film from 1980 starring joe spinell as frank zito, the 'maniac'. as a reference point, spinell played the part of the loanshark stallone worked for in rocky - they were good friends in real life. as a favor stallone wore maniac t-shirts during a few of his PR events for rocky.

the film was remade in 2013 with elijah wood. it's really an awesome remake - probably one of the best out there honestly.

converted a monotone pleather bomber jacket into something closer to the one worn by macready in the thing.

added:
- fur lined collar
- buttons
- weathered leather paint texture

i plan to weather this up a bit - maybe add some scratches or blood after i sort out some proper S5 clothes and a body

Scrapes, dirt and blood splatter would bring this to a whole new level of awesome!

definitely - i'm looking forward to it since it always adds another level of realism to the figure - if only every figure could be grimy, sweaty and bloody - thanks artoo

i weathered the grimes head up plus added a few small cuts. i'd rather him be cleaner but haggard at the same time i guess - less a bloody mess, just dirty. the color match is pretty good against ht slim plastic but i need to paint the neck, hands, etc. when the time comes (i might go with a different body but the clothing really only fits the ht slim properly afaik).

i'm waiting on some mail order paint and thought to mess with this a bit more not the most flattering light but it shows off the details pretty well - i think most sculpts and photos look more natural with a harder shadow over the eyes. i'll shoot some more 'natural' photos once i finish this up

looking for a season 5 jacket if anybody has some suggestions let me know thanks
