$80 for next gen games?

Damn SNES SF2 game cost $120 compare to today's money? No wonder My parents would say NO to buying that game. If my kid asked for $120 video game today, I also have to flat out deny them.

But back then we didn't have the Used game market which probably helps to keep game prices low. If Microsoft and Sony had their way, I'm sure they like to get rid of it so they can start selling $120 games to us.

games already cost more than $80 you just dont realize it. the extra cost is hidden in DLC that make the game better than what you originally paid for.

This is a good point. What you buy in retail is a gateway for you to buy more stuff once you have the game. DLC, Avatar props, etc. Also not being such a niche market anymore, you get product tie in and such now also.

You just wait a week for everyone to drop the price $10 or wait a month or 2 for $20 drop. You don't have to buy every game at the midnight launch.

That's cool and all - it is, no sarcasm, but for myself, I don't mind paying full price for the series I love.

Paid $60 for Borderlands 2 and don't regret it at all.

Gonna pay full price for Watch Dogs too

Yeah but paying an extra $30.00 for something better is different and something that holds it's money.
Games go down in price after a few weeks , take bioshock infinate for instance.
That was full price and 1 month later £15.00 brand new.
Unless the game has something to do with Hitman , Halo , edler schrolls , metal gear solid and mass effect then they can wait.
I'm hoping they release a new time spliters but it will never happen.

I think the only DLC ever worth buying in my eyes is the Mass effect stuff and the Elder Schrolls stuff as you get your good money's worth.
Map pacs should be free as they are just maps out of the game also when they release maps from the likes of COD4 , MW2, MW3 that you have already paid for should be free.

Also i think games should never be less than 10 hours long.
I remember completing Kane & Lynch dog days in 3 or so hours.

Those exclusive Collector's Ultimated Collection editions usually increase in price esp those Japanese ones like Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil etc esp those that comes with special goodies. But then again they cost a bomb right from the start.

Anyway i don't support DLC because they are too expensive for what you get. Long time ago they released expansion packs which really has lots of content in it, maps used to be free, now everything they want to sell, even wallpapers...

Well only for people buying Revoltech, Figma & PAK I guess coz $30 is a big fraction of their retail price.

However $30 is nothing for Hot Toys, Enterbay & Sideshow collectors. Look at the price of HT 3 years back & today, it's like $100 difference people just don't mind at all. Especially those Ironman fans.

A SS SW 1/6 used to cost $80, now they average $150.

Hmmm! well i beg to differ TBH.
I have never bought a Japanese version but the UK versions drop amazingly.
So my first collectors edition was HALO 3 Legendary still not worth much.
Gears of war 2 gold lancers full size i have 2 not worth much , gears or war epic edition not worth much , SKYRIM collectors edition not worth much and basically every other special edition i have is not worth much and i have a load of them from games i like.
When i bought gears of war epic edition for £100.00 about 1 month later they were £50.00 brand new and now you would be lucky to get £50.00 for them.
Same goes with the Halo reach legendary i have them all and are like new.
So i don't really bother anymore TBH.
If the content and statues inside were numbered and with certificate it would be different.
