I have a question about batteries. You know some figures like IronMan, Predator, etc have the light up feature. I was wondering if I should remove the batteries from the figure to avoid leakage. I keep them with the plastic seals. is this enough?

So is Hot Toys going to make any Avatar figures or not??I would definately buy Neytiri if they even make it!

Last we've seen/heard was that the figures were still in development. We got some work-in-progress pics, but that was about it.

I like to think they are still in development, but seeing that they were announced a good 18 months ago, it's anybody's guess when we'll actually see something of that license :dunno

So many epic figures are coming out i have to narrow the lines down,

Im getting SUPERMAN, CAPTIAN AMERICA and GREEN LANTERN. Hopefully Avatar is still in the cards, Id love a Neytiri and Col Quarich

That would really suck if 10 years down the road, all our hot toys figures began to melt away. :panic:

The plastic seals should be good enough, but if you want to be extra careful and avoid all risks of corrosion, I'd just take out the batteries completely.

Can one of you guys explain to me why does it takes so long for Hot Toys to release it's figures. I understand that they are more intricate figures than the average "toy" but it find it weird that they are incapable of releasing them at they same time the movies come out. If they could release figures within the same time frame of when the movie comes out I'm sure they would sell a lot more. I remember watching Predators and thinking I would like to own some Hot Toys figures from the movie... but I lost interest by the time the figures came out (I'm sure that's the same for a lot for people).

Eh, considering damn near everything they release sells out if not before its release, then shortly after, its probably not too much of a worry for them. If anything, I'd prefer them to slow down on the releases, they have a stacked release schedule this year's Q3 and Q4, and I have a feeling some people will have to pick and choose to get the ones they want, because of the close release schedule. Buying 3 or 4 Hot Toys in a month can really start hitting the wallet, believe me I know.

I brought up the Comedian issue on another thread. Im curious if this is just happening on figures with large ammounts of rubber gear and items. If so A LOT of us have a lot to worry about. Hopefully its not also sculpt. I would hate to see my precious Godfather go the way of Toth!

^^^highly doubtful on Godfather (what rubber parts will degrade?)

However how about starting a speculative (and not so speculative list):

DX 02 Batman--proven problems with melting abs/arms
Abe Sapien--proven problems with leaving arms bent
Ed-209-- proven rotting dome
Sarah Connor--proven problems with leaving arms bent
Rambo II--proven cracking body arms
Any Alien--proven problems with melting/degrading apendages.
Comedian--proven problems with melting rubber armour
Mars Attacks!--proven problems with leaving arms bent

anything else? what other releases may have these issues (ie AVATAR figs)

I don't want to bash on HTs, just get a comprehensive list of figures that literally require kid gloves.

ehem its official Capt America is mms156. LOL

So it goes like this on the Marvel main characters:

MMS103 Wolverine
MMS113 Blade
MMS123 Iron Man Mark IV
MMS133 Ghost Rider
MMS143 Spider-Man
MMS146 Thor
MMS156 Captain America

They changed from 3's to 6's

I wonder if Hulk or Hawkeye will be MMS166

I have a couple of new theories...Whiplash is MMS121 and New Goblin is MMS151... so maybe theres some pattern and MMS161 or MMS171 will be a Marvel villain...Loki? Red Skull?

Also on Predators...Falconer MMS137, Tracker MMS147....Classic to be MMS157?? fingers crossed.

This is pure speculation but its clear Hot Toys tries to follow some pattern on the MMS numbers.

Proof people, proof. A few people with problems doesn't prove anything. I would like to see more than one photo of various Hot Toys figures falling apart and crumbling away. The DX Batman did have some issues with the suit leaking baby oil, but not all of them, and as for the rest . . . there are no photos or verifiable patterns of any problems of the rubber degrading. Even if a few people come forward with reports and PHOTOS of damaged parts, that still doesn't mean it has anything to do with the rubber Hot Toys have used or manufacturing process. Who really knows what sort of conditions people expose their figures to. HT makes a few thousand of each figure, and we would have HUNDRED, if not THOUSANDS of reports and PHOTOS flooding in about these problems with figures. You would have to be stupid to believe that these figures are going to fall apart on you because a few people are say it will. Don't worry about it.
