I wonder if the lone preview pic we've seen here isn't just a little stretched.... If you squish his head a little, I think it looks better. Still the best Han sculpt the world has ever seen!

a>

I actually think the squished head looks worse, the look get's lost, I think the preview picture is exactly what we'll see, BUT, SSC's pics never quite do these pieces justice.

For example, Sideshow Old Ben

Lighting is HUGE when it comes to showing off the character, but Sideshow shoots to show off the figure's detail, all the lines in the sculpt and the detail of the fabric and that's lost in more interesting, shadow and highlight filled photography.

Why is it that SS insists on making Han and Leia have black hair?

Bear in mind, it's very possible that it's someone at Lucasfilm Licensing insisting that paintjobs be done a certain way, and Sideshow has to do what the Man says, regardless of what might be 'right'...

Just some polite food for thought... The nice thing is, fixing a paintjob on a figure is the easiest tweak, especially hair...

Toys is fun!

Yeah, because my comments are little more explanatory!:lol

Well there ya go, keep em like that and we will prolly still just get all up in arms. Be a TINY bit more polite and you may be accepted. I mean come on, some of us even accept Shai. :lol

Good point, MF! Lighting is the key, that's why figures ALWAYS look 33% cooler in your hands, than they do in a JPEG.... you can twirl them around and see the best angles...

As of the squashed Ford head.... I've had to draw Han Solo a few times the last year or so.... part of the nightmare of the elusive Ford likeness is that if you portray the head too narrowly, you end up with a really nice Chevy Chase. No lie! :) Ford's a tough nut to crack.... Trevor's hit a homerun with this one....

This sucks!! Absolutely another horrid SSC attempt!!!

This company is company is completely lame and impotent!!

I was just kidding, I think it looks fine but I'm trying to get myself in the right frame of mind before I venture to RS for a good laugh.

I wasn't so much trying to assign blame as to understand the reasoning behind it. The actors clearly have (well, had) brown hair.

If it's necessary, that's exactly what I'll be doing. The Bespin Han figure's likeness was greatly improved by merely painting his hair brown.

I don't think you can ever be in a right enough frame of mind for RS anymore. These guys from overseas are REALLY rough on these things. One said the only reason you are seeing Ford is because it's in a thread that says so. Another says its like looking at clouds where you see what you wanna see. I say that the sculpt is Ford weather ya like it not

Whoever painted the prototype should apologize to Trevor. With Adam's PS repaint, that sculpt is 100% ANH Han.

I'm not sure why it is, if he broke it or something, but Han's nose being somewhat curved to the side has got to throw any artist off as well since it's not really the norm for a human portrait, it's quite an exception. Ford and Owen Wilson are the only 2 noses I've ever seen on someone that looked busted up, not different, but like something is actually wrong. Naturally we all have unique features, but they still conform to a standard "design" if you will.

You nailed this Adam. This is almost exactly how I'll be painting Han when I get him.
If someone can't see for in this pictures then there just nuts.:monkey3

I can't wait to see what you do, man!

I dunno about anybody else, but I really love the customizing and repainting that goes on. When we all post pics of what we've done, it's like we all bought the same model kit, went off and put it together seperately, then all came back to have Show & Tell, compare notes.... I find that it's half the fun of 1/6 scale collecting (for me)... I've gotten more ideas off of this forum than anywhere else on the Interwebs.

Toys slow down global warming! Whee!
