I think Arnie Kim's Han Solo sculpt is one of his worst pieces, not awful by any means but nowhere near as good as his Bruce Lee,Tom Hanks or Sylvester Stallone sculpts. His best attempt at Harrison Ford (and he's done a few) is his Indy and it's a figure I hope Enterbay get to release in the onslaught of Indy merchandise that's due next year. As for the ANH Han Solo sculpt, despite my general dislike of SSC's 1/6 figures I think the sculpt looks good, the Photoshopped pics shows the likeness is there and with a decent paintjob it should look fantastic. It's just a shame that SSC don't seem to put as much effort into the attire as they do the sculpts otherwise it would be a killer product.

Thanks PC, just goes to show that Harrison is a hard tone to nail if even Kim makes a so-so one. Sideshow done good getting Trevor aboard :rock

Personally own 3 Trevor portraits (Ani-Obi dio, Sarah Connor) I can say that he is unbelievable at capturing both essence and appearance of a character. The Ani-Obi dio looked great and impressive in photos, but in hand, his Obi-Wan is SO lifelike it's insane, more than any piece I own he looks like a miniature of the actor sitting on my desk, simply stunning the sculpt work he did, and the Sarah portrait, man did he capture Linda Hamilton's appearance and emotion from Terminator 2.

For me, what sets the best sculptors apart from the good ones is the ability to not only capture the likeness, but to bring the essence of the character into it, and when you do these neutral sculpts, that can't be easy. My current 2 favorite portraits in my entire 1/6 collection, and only one I have in person right now, are Andy's ROTS Obi-Wan and Trev's ANH Obi-Wan; both portraits really capture the actor's look, but they also almost feel alive because there's a deeper sense of what the character was about in the sculpts.

I'd agree with that. These pieces do really feel alive in the sense of emotion you get off of them when looking at them in your collection.

wow........53 pages & a whole lot of deleted post over 1 freakin 12" figure.

star wars collectors have a whole new definition to the word collector :D:lol

I think this is a great example of how important John Mollo was to Star Wars.

Ahh, perhaps if LFL were more forthright with BTS info for the OT i'd have known, I know of course about Trisha Biggar, Ian McCaig and the big names of the PT because that was all covered.

Right. Mollo was the costume designer for ANH and ESB. He basically took all the ideas of Lucas and McQuarrie and made them what we saw in the movies. He won an Oscar for his work.
